The apartment was really modern with lovely fixtures & fittings. It was also spacious, bright & airy and ideally situated to the beach. The bed was reasonably comfortable too.

On first entering the main door, we saw a vacuum cleaner on a shelf half way up the stairs which certainly needed emptying as it was full to the brim. Then at the top of the stairs there was a socket hanging off the wall. We entered our apartment and we could just smell dogs. The table in the hallway was dirty and full of sand and although the apartment wasn’t dirty, there were places where it wasn’t the cleanest. The hot water was very hit & miss and the bathroom shower screen leaks whilst having a shower. There were reed diffusers in the bathroom & kitchen which would have been a lovely touch but they were all empty. Also, we were left about 2 squirts of hand wash in the bathroom and we thought this was a little unreasonably for price we’d paid for the accommodation. The property also needs a 2-way light switch between the bedroom & the hallway to the bathroom as there is no switch to put the light on from upstairs in the night. One of the front UPVC windows has also blown in the lounge and the long ceiling light in the lounge didn’t work. Lastly only 3 mugs in the cupboard. All this said, we had a lovely stay and these are the things that we noted and should be used as constructive feedback and we would be happy to recommend the apartment.

Lovely place to stay. Comfortable bed and spacious lounge. The hosts found us somewhere to secure our bikes overnight when we arrived. Gary was very quick to respond too.

All negative points are supported by photographic evidence - unfortunately booking.com only allows 4 photos. At £160 a night the accommodation is very far from worth that price point. Unfortunately, our stay was far below expectations due to the following issues: - Unclean and unwelcoming entrance: The entryway was extremely off-putting. Carpets were heavily soiled, there were exposed wires, marked and dirty walls, and overflowing bins at the rear where parking is located. - Poor hygiene standards in the bedroom: The bed linen, including mattress protectors and pillowcases, was stained and clearly unwashed. There were visible white stains on the headboard, which was extremely concerning and unhygienic. - General condition of the apartment: Inside, the condition continued to disappoint — more stained carpets, extensive wall marks, and even large visible cracks. Paint was peeling from walls, door frames, and the stair banister, leaving woodwork exposed. - Dirty kitchenware: Cutlery, pots, and plates were found dirty upon arrival. While guests are asked to leave the property clean, the hosts also charge a mandatory cleaning fee. It’s only reasonable to expect that the cleaning team ensures all items are clean before new guests arrive. Instead of addressing the concern, the hosts pointed out the cleaning policy as justification, which felt dismissive. - Noise issues: The building has been split into multiple apartments, with one located directly above. Unfortunately, noise insulation is poor, and we were disturbed regularly by loud movement overhead — particularly disruptive at night, as the bedroom is situated near the internal stairway. - Unpleasant interaction at checkout: Communication with the hosts was fine until checkout. When I raised our concerns politely and constructively, their attitude shifted, becoming defensive and unhelpful.

Everything was good
