Nothing. All is great. I only suggested them to put shelves in the bed room to have a bit more space to organize clothes.

The guesthouse is well located, the room is clean, and housekeeping is done daily. The view is simply incredible, and the space for watching the sunset is a real highlight. Having drinks available in the fridge is also very much appreciated. Thank you for the stay, which could have been better in the end. 😊

The owner constantly keeps an eye on you from the corner of her eye, a somewhat heavy, watchful gaze that eventually creates an oppressive atmosphere. The welcome is warm—perhaps even a bit too demonstrative, to the point of feeling forced. ⚠️ Regarding scooter rentals: we strongly advise against it. The scooters are delivered without fuel. After a flat tire, the owner used our fuel to go and change the tire, then lent us another scooter that we had to refill at our own expense, while pointing out that fuel was expensive, despite having just used ours. Following some damage to the scooter, the atmosphere changed completely: the owner became cold and barely polite. After three attempts to settle the matter and several solutions proposed, she refused all of them and directed us to a friend of theirs who charged us double the repair price. To top it off, they refused to take us back to the port upon departure. Also worth noting: the transfer to/from the guesthouse is charged at 450 pesos for a 15-minute ride by car or tuk-tuk, an excessive rate. Renting a snorkeling mask for 100 pesos also seemed a bit expensive. It feels like the typical Filipino mindset: the tourist is seen as a walking wallet.

Great location, super close to the beach which made for a relaxing and peaceful end to our vacation. Lots of opportunities to hire a motorbike and travel around all of Siquijor. Rooms were clean, well ventilated and the mini bar was fantastic - nothing beats a nice cold beer after a full day out in the heat. The host was super nice and helpful - would love to stay again.

The cleaners would regularly clean the rooms which is great, but sometimes it would be hard to locate specific things after a clean. A very minor complaint that didn't ruin the vibe overall.

We stayed at Zaras from the 12th-18th of April 2026. We simply loved this place. This is a small, welcoming place, with lots of flowers and smiles. The rooms are cleaned every day and there is an extra terasse by the sea, where you can watch the sunset or go down by the stairs directly in the water. When the tide is low, there are tide pools with funny fish and creatures, when the water is high, you can swim out watching colorful fish, corals and turtles. The turtles com in the afternoon and there are plenty of them. One afternoon we saw 6-7 turtles on a short swim. There is also a small cafe, serving shakes, drinks and breakfast. I highly recommend Zaras, and we would stay here again comming back to Siqijor.
