The only positive aspect was the location, which had beautiful scenic views.

Our stay was unfortunately very unpleasant and did not meet the expectations set at the time of booking. Breakfast was promised at $7 per person. We stayed for 4 days as a couple, but the breakfast provided was inadequate. On the first day, we were given only one loaf of bread, cereals, pieces of butter, 1 liter of milk, 2 packets of instant chocolate drink, and few packets of yoghurt minimal supplies for 4 days as couples. After that, no proper daily breakfast service was provided as expected. They commented upon request “We put enough for 4 days sorry but I can give you more bread - we are out at the moment” and 4 slices of bread was provided in a plastic zip lock bag on our check out day. This was misleading and disappointing. We feel a budget Hotel too provides unlimited breakfast for their guests instead of booking on private properties with owner staying and rationing the breakfast supplies. We felt a lack of privacy throughout our stay. The owner CCTV’s is present at front door and made comments about our movements and air-conditioning usage, which made us feel uncomfortable and monitored. The toilet did not have a proper door, which completely compromised privacy. Additionally, the strong smell of urine and feces spread throughout the entire room, creating an extremely uncomfortable and unhygienic environment. Due to the misleading breakfast arrangement, lack of privacy, and poor hygiene conditions, our overall experience was very disappointing.

Reading from the previous reviews, we picked this B&B for the incredible breakfast described, complimentary foods, and great reviews overall. Unfortunately, our experience was quite different. The breakfast was incredibly underwhelming with a very limited selection, supermarket bread expired by a week, and the jar of milk that had had water dripping from the thawing freezer in the fridge. No fresh fruits or home baking/biscuits described in previous reviews. Some of the walls and ceilings were mouldy, our bed sheets were stained, and the traffic on the nearby road was actually so intense that it would make the place rattle every time a truck would pass. We had initially planned to stay two nights but ended up cancelling the second night, the first time we’ve ever had to do that in the 15 years we’ve been living here. Quite disappointed in the end.

Location. Clean. Comfy. Host. Easy check-in. Private.

Once booking was confirmed communication was great. When we arrived we were welcomed and told we could ask if we needed anything. The treat of cake to have with a cuppa when we arrived was a nice touch too. The accommodation was very clean, well stocked and comfortable. Having a rural outlook and being just over 10 mins from New Plymouth was relaxing and convenient. Well worth the money and easy to find.

Excellent, comfortable bed, great country views through large window, great supplies in kitchen for breakfast including toast, selection of jams, butter, yoghurt and fruit, cereals and yummy shortbread biscuits. Percolated coffee!!! Big shower with fluffy white towels. Great hosts.
