The property was nice and looked exactly as advertised.

Can the owner please ask the cleaners to wash the bedding, especially the towels with proper detergents. Towels did smell like dog hair not a nice smell at all.

Struisbaai as a town is amazing but Oom Jan Ocean View House is terrible

The place looks like it is still under construction, the yard looks terrible, the small pool is dirty, there is no wadrobe/storage to store clothes even though the room description says it is available. Place isn't clean we didn't stay the whole 3 days we booked. We had to book somewhere else. The manager addressed my wife in a rude manner until I joined them. We asked to speak to owner but the manager wasn't having it. As you enter the building you are greeted by a dirty front room where people peel onions. The property has potential but it is run badly. They must improve otherwise they are robbing people their money. If they are decent people they must refund people their money. The no refund policy is a testimony to the fact that they know when guests get there, if they are not getting the main room with advertised photos, they will definitely ask for their money back. My home is much better than this place. The pictures I uploaded just show how our clothes were everywhere because there is no storage and the dirty sink we found. Everything else they know it. Things to improve on: - Clean your pool - Paint/plaster your yard walls - Pests control is needed - There are no TVs in rooms so if you are a sport person spending a weekend here is terrible - Have some storage for your guest's clothes - The ladies can use a backroom to peel their onions NOT in front - A nicer manager who treat all guests equally. - Have a communal braai area next to the pool

The units floors were not clear with hair of previous quests everywhere. The chairs legs in the living room were all broken and one couldn't sit on them comfortably.

There were 2 contractions (next door and back opposite to the property) the construction or renovations that caused so much dust in the windy season, we could not sleep while works were in progress. The pool had leaves and the garden furniture was broken We had to check in on the time provided for cleaning reasons but our rooms were not clean, the sliding door had oily hand marks. Bedroom + Bathroom - The was not smell of cleaning products, no shampoo or conditioner, no hand wash shops, toilet spray was finished. Only one side lamp. The most disappointing was that we booked for 3 adults and there was not were we can unpack our shoes and clothes. We had to book another room for the 3rd person as the advert was misleading. Kitchen - We had no clean dish sponge we had to aske for a new one, dish washing soap was in a random juice bottle, cups were chipped, plate did not fit in the microwave. Room had a joining door and we could hear everything from the other room. The managers room is the first thing you see when you drive in and one can see everything in the room.

The bed was abit soft pillows to hard and no joice to get a differant one. No cloth to clean if you spill.
