Heron's Rest

The cottage was lovely and cosy with everything we needed, including good parking and back and front gardens - the front garden onto a stream.

We liked everything, as did the dog :)

We loved this little gem of a place from the minute we clapped eyes on it! It is overlooking the river and so.quiet and peaceful. The cottage is beautifully decorated and furnished and extremely comfortable. A home from home. The walks from this location are multiple and incredible. It is positioned 2 minutes walk across the river from the Monsal Trail, 8 and a half miles of cycle track each way, from Bakewell to Buxton. There is a pub at the end of a (20 min walk) country lane and a farm shop a 5 minute drive away. We cannot recommend this property enough, and so much so, I have rebooked for May 2025. We didn't want to leave.

We have absolutely loved our stay at Heron's Nest. It's beautiful decorated, exceptionally clean and very well equipped. The beds were comfortably and we particularly enjoyed eating breakfast by the river and watching the fish go by. Nothing went un noticed. You can tell the owners really care about their guests experience here. Thank you!

Fabulous! The cottage has everything you could possibly need. It is clean and comfortable. The location is amazing. We sat by the river for hours and walked some lovely walks from the cottage. Can't wait to stay again!

We had the most incredible stay here. The most beautiful riverside location right in the heart of the Peak District, and James and Sarah were so kind to us start to finished with little personalized notecards, water, milk and treats, everything we needed for a cozy weekend away. House was warm and cozy, everything was clean and as described. An absolute little piece of heaven, couldn't recommend enough! Thank you ::) x

The cottage was clean and well appointed, with beautiful decor. It is in an excellent, peaceful location. The beds are very comfortable, and there is everything that you would need provided.

Quiet, peaceful location; great view from the front of the cottage. The cottage has everything you need for self-catering, but if you prefer there is a pub a short walk away to eat at. Hosts are an email or phone call away if you need; if not, you are free to come and go as you please. We ran late for arrival - no problem at all, just grabbed the key when we finally arrived.

It was very well decorated. Very comfortable and well equipped. Great location. Very quiet.

It's a super cottage in a beautiful spot by a quiet river, very comfortable with everything you need, including an excellent bed. It's just a short walk up to the Monsal Trail and very well placed as a base for walking etc in the area. We had a very good time there and enjoyed getting out into this lovely area - Cromford Mills, Kinder Scout etc etc.

It was a quaint adorable cottage in a wonderful location. We had a fantastic time and really enjoyed our stay. Also incredibly dog friendly which is a big bonus for us!
