Nice small “hotel” (only two rooms) with a restaurant. We had the upstairs room, which is airy and spacious - and has a huge porch/balcony with a beautiful view of the bird-filled lagoon. Has deck chairs and a hammock to chill. The manager on site, Sureka, is a nice, caring lady and helped us a lot. She also runs the restaurant (and cooks), where you can get tasty meals from a large menu at the normal tourist prices. We preferred the Sri Lankan breakfast to “American”. The bed is very big (thanks), comfortable and has a well designed mosquito net (many thanks- though the little buggers only come at dusk and aren’t a problem if you keep the door closed at that time). Sureka also keeps the grounds and the garden nice and clean. Walking distance to the turtle beach (you have to decide for yourself if you really want to do that) and to the endless Tangalle Beach (head for Mangrove Beach). Sureka helped us out with beach towels. Thanks a lot!!!

A few details: the room door doesn’t close unless it is locked. Neither the bathroom door nor the window close at all. There is no shelf in the bathroom above the sink (there are wholes in the tiles which suggest that there was one before). The shower is in the middle of the bathroom which leaves the whole floor wet. That’s annoying as the toilet is at the other end (Sureka was nice and gave us a wiper to solve this problem). Poor water pressure in the shower as half is coming out through the faucet in the bottom. The hand held shower doesn’t work at all. No fridge in the room (again, Sureka was able to help), no tea or coffee maker. Furniture is basic and a little old.

Very beautiful place, clean with fantastic view over the lagoon. 5 min. walking to the turtle beach, where we saw a lot of turtles coming out of the sea at night. Fantastic terrace with view directly over the lagoon, it was very relaxing and we saw a lot of birds. Delicious breаkfast. Totally recommend the place.

It was a little bit hard the communication in english, also some glasses and water in the room would have been nice. But these are small disadvantages, the place is fantastic.

I had a wonderful stay at Pearl Cave Cabanas. The room on the second floor is very spacious and there are a lot of places you can put down your things. The bathroom was also exceptional. I absolutely loved the balcony with the hammock where you can spend hours just watching the birds in the lagoon. Sureka was lovely and always offered me recommendations on things to do in the area. She also gave me a lift to the main road at the end of my stay. I also really enjoyed the food which you can get at fair prices. There are also a lot of other great restaurants easily reached by foot. I can only recommend this place.

The view is simply amazing; I have rarely encountered a place this beautiful. Surrounded by nature, with plenty of animals and birds, it offers complete peace, free from traffic and city noise. The apartment is very clean and well equipped. The staff is exceptionally kind and always ready to accommodate your every need. During my stay, I had a medical emergency, and they went above and beyond to assist me.

It's far off the city, but it's a fair price to pay if you want to be in the middle of nature.

Everything in this place is perfect. It’s the best place we’ve stayed until now. It’s quiet, the view is amazing and the bed is big and confortable. We had a car but it may be a bit far without one. The beach where baby turtles get into the water is 10 min walking. Anyhow, we’ve stayed 5 nights and loved it !

Relaxing rooms facing a lake. The atmosphere is very relaxing, there's a private balcony, hammock and the possibility to eat in the restaurant. The beach is only a short walk away.
