New Build 1 Bedroom Apartment, Jewellery Quarter

It looked like the photos, in a great spot. Bathroom facilities were good and clean. Fridge and freezer food size.

The instructions about how to get into the property weren’t clear. There are multiple lockboxes. The door you’re supposed to use through the black gate doesn’t have a number 3 on it. The door that did was occupied by someone else. Entrance instructions need to be more clear. The oven/hob is faulty, it wouldn’t stay on whilst our food was cooking. No battery cover on remote. Sink was leaking in the kitchen. Hole in the sofa cover. 2/5 radiators work in the property. The laminate floor felt unclean when walking on it.

Good location , walking distance from Brindley Wharf and the Arenas

No hot water , no WiFi , parking not as detailed , fuses taken out of radiators so useless , one dinner plate provided . Generally very cheap tatty .

Host was easy to get ahold of & very informative

Owner was slow in providing check in details had to chase an hour after checkin! Took some time to find the apartment as it was not numbered (the one opposite had the same door number that we were advised). Situated on a busy road with permit holder parking. Lots of noise from pedestrians (as the front door, bedroom and lounge windows on pavement) car doors & traffic. The bed was small & very uncomfortable (cheap spring mattress) the whole place smelt of stale cigarette smoke. There was parking at the property but we were advised to park on the road took some time to actually get a space ended up parking a few streets away. Hasten to add we did not stay the night !

Close to the location where we needed to be

Unfortunately we were unable to check into the original property as the host had a cleaning issue. An alternative place was given to us on short notice although I was understanding of the situation but it was quite stressful as the alternative property was a further 30 mins away from the original property where I had been waiting for check in details especially as we were not from the area. The alternative property did have some issues which were all reported to the host. The host did a great job communicating and sorting it the new place out he was a massive help but the price was not worth it based on the new place we stayed in. Just one suggestion the bathroom is in need of a makeover.

The smoke alarms were broken and disconnected. The bathroom radiator was hanging off the wall. The apartment had 1 x pot for cooking and very few utensils. There was an over-powering smell from the plug in air fresheners and there were at least 1 to 2 of the air fresheners in every room - i think to over come the smell of smoke. There was only 1 x towel + a hand towel for the 2 of us. We did not stay and booked a hotel instead. The photos, reviews and ratings did not seem to match the actual property

Kitchen - work surface dirty, no chopping board, lack of utensils, no tea towels, cover and battery removed from smoke alarm. Living room - cover and battery removed from smoke alarm, no batteries in TV remote, once delivered TV still.not tuned in. Bathroom - no bin, radiator coming away from wall. Bedroom - no lampshade, no bedside lamps, storage had no hanging rails, shelves or drawers. Hall - nowhere to hang coats General - apart from Bathroom no mirrors elsewhere to be able to dry hair. Not cleaned very well

The apartment was very clean and cosy, the host was very kind and answered all questions making my stay more simpler.

Spacious and convenient. Easy access with the key drop lock, no hassle at all. Everything worked.

A bit spartan. It’s brand new and maybe needs a bit of love and a personalised touch. A little expensive but it’s a peak demand week in Birmingham with one of the major party conferences on.
