Unfortunately, I noticed some stitches on my arms after the first night sleeping on the couch but thought it was mosquito bites. After few days I realised that it can't be since I had several stitches in one spot. Went to a doctor back home and got confirmation that it was bedbugs because stitches still appeared after I left the place. They take time to come out. After confronting the property management they denied and accused me of lying. Same they did with another lady last year. The review is still visible and she was accused of lying too. Booking.com was not helpful either. No support from their side. The emotional damage made through this experience was awful. We were 4 people and when we arrived at home we all had to clean our clothes and belongings for hours. Till now am still anxious I brought them in my house. The property was not willing to take any measures like pest control. I can't recommend to book this place.

The location was great. Kitchen, bathroom good enough. The terrace was great. You also have a Mercadona in front of the house.

It’s an old place where the AC doesn’t work properly.

"A little gem"

10.0

Brilliant place to stay, excellent terrace, close to all amenities, including the Castillo (take a taxi there and enjoy a glass of wine in the cafe with breathtaking views). Our host is just exceptional and very accommodating. What a gem this place is. We adored our time in Alicante.

"Well located apartment with a fantastic roof terrace"

8.0

The roof terrace was so cool!! It had nice views over Plaza de España, Plaza de Toros and you could see both castles! It’s hot during the daytime but comfortable with a nice cool breeze early in the morning, evening and overnight. There was a handy drying rack in case you need to wash anything or if you have wet swimming stuff. The location was great, easy walking distance to everything and down to the beach, the airport bus stops at Plaza del Mar, which is approx 15min walk away. Mercado tram station is just a few minutes walk, buses stop in the Square. There is a medium sized Mercadona supermarket in the street next to the building, 2 Carrefour Express nearby & Supercor that has long opening hours. The central market is close. The apartment met my expectations inside, the decor is dated but you can see that in the photos. The double bed was comfortable, the bedroom has shutters to block the light out and aircon, it was quiet at night, so I slept well. You could sleep a few people in this apartment although the small room has only a single bed and doesn’t have dark curtains on the windows so a lot of light comes in. The kitchen was well equipped, there are Moka pots to make coffee in the morning and it was really useful having a microwave. The building has a lift, which is essential if you have heavy luggage as the apartment is quite high up but there are also stairs if you want to get your steps in and you don’t mind getting a bit dizzy going round and round the staircase. I found the instructions to collect the keys a bit confusing - but maybe this was because of the translation. You have to ring the bell ‘4I’ and the lady in that apartment has the keys. She was lovely and pointed out the sights that could be seen from the roof terrace when I arrived, which was great to help orient myself. She made sure I understood the Wi-Fi key and how to work the Aircon etc.

There is no kettle in the kitchen or anything to boil water in so I had to boil water in a mug in the microwave. The showerhead did not stay in the holder so I had to hold it with one hand when showering. Sometimes the chair cushions on the roof terrace are wet in the middle, if it has rained recently. They don’t look or feel wet and you only realise after you have been sitting on them and you get wet shorts! It might be a good idea to store these inside so they are always dry to sit on. I felt the apartment was quite expensive, it cost more per night than I would pay for an apartment like this in Lisbon, Porto, Athens or Pisa - but perhaps this is typical of Alicante accommodation prices.

"Great stay. Change the mattresses"

Very nice place with a lovely rooftop

The mattress in one of the bedrooms was uncomfortable. You could feel the metal springs.
