Forestiva Farm - River Cottage

The location was great and perfect for a weekend to unplug and get away from the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg. Loved that the unit was pet-friendly. Our two dogs absolutely loved their stay as much as we did. There are different hiking trails which you can do. We enjoyed our hike aside from the pollution and so did our doggies. The kitchen was fully kitted even though we brought our own pots, untensils etc so that was a nice surprise. Has a great braai area to chill and relax by.

The river is heavily polluted and has a smell. The accommodation could use a few additional touches to make the stay more comfortable, for example,a diffuser to enhance the smell while inside the unit due to the smell of the river which is of course beyond their control, a hand towel in the bathroom and a small bin in the kitchen area or inside the unit would be great. The bathroom could use a bit of an upgrade. The toilet bowl is stained which isn't very pleasant and the shower taps etc, could use a scrub to remove limsecale build-up. Found old pretzels under the couch from previous guests so just a double check by the host to ensure the unit has been cleant in preparation for our arrival but wasnt major.

Our stay was extremely comfortable. After a georgous hike, coming to the cottage to relax and listen to the river was amazing.

This is not something that can be changed lol, there were a few large rain spiders that kept us company in the cottage. One decided to come home with us.

Every thing possible to clean the pollution by the owners but still is sad to see the pollution coming downstream from Centurion

I loved the location, the drive there was a bit hard but driving an SUV helped and the fact that the host continued to communicate with us about the alternative route was a huge bonus . The environment is serene and peaceful and very private, falling asleep with the river flowing nearby that was a bonus, the greenery was just beautiful. there is no loadshedding wow 👌😊the kitchen is fully equipped with all we needed ,braai area is available just next to the river ,will definitely go back again soon

Just fixing the toilet bowl, but the bathroom is clean as a whole
