Location…near to the Medina.

Staff not very good communicating information to each other. Almost missed our bus because it was not well communicated to each other. Pictures are deceiving and rooms are crammed.

This is a small riad, beautifully furnished with tiles and plasterwork. The reception area is particularly lovely and the rooftop dinning area and terrace are outstanding. The bed was exceptionally comfy. The location is excellent, you are a few minutes from the kasbah and the heart of the medina, but easy walking distance from the river and to make the walk up to the mountain-side mosque to watch sunset. Everything we needed was on our doorstep and we found the people of Chefchaouene really friendly. There are lots of dining options, but we would especially recommend El Cielo (suggest booking) and Sindibad cafe (best falafel all holiday). The local hammam is an authentic experience and great value. Also, definitely worth getting out into the mountains if you can.

The people managing the riad were rarely around so it was difficult to ask for any advice or recommendations. We were there for four nights and no-one came in to clean the room, empty the bin or change the towels. I did find someone to give us fresh towels eventually, and left the bin outside the door, but when we ran out of loo roll we had to use a pack of tissues in the room.
