Absolutely beautiful flat in a great location. Kate (the owner) was really helpful and we had a thoroughly enjoyable 10 days there. Everything was laid on for us and we had no complaints

Tiny quibbles were the single beds were a bit short for my 6foot+ boys and (first world problem) only 1 bathroom. However, we were reminded how normal that was when we grew up!

Easy to collect keys but it being a historical home the locks were tricky so we could not get it open upon arrival but host was very helpful and sent over a neighbor who taught us the trick after that no problems.

The towels I believe are air dried—because there is no dryer—so they were a bit crunchy. The bathroom just needs a bit of help…a table maybe to place your belongings while showering. Tv is old not able to stream and just a couple of local channels. The 2nd bedroom has some issues connecting to WiFi, perhaps a booster would help. The large master could hold a bed larger than a double that would be more comfortable for tired parents after a long day of walking and touring. But over all a wonderful home and it’s their family home with their history which you can feel and we respected and felt thankful for our time there. Would love to stay again!

Location, pleasantly decorated, clean.

We found the master bed was too hard. Obviously this is personal taste and some people may like a hard bed, but for us it was uncomfortable. Perhaps an optional mattress topper would cater for those not used to very hard beds?

Location was central to many activities.

Great location, fabulous period property, excellent host. Everything was perfect and we loved spending time at the property. We would definitely stay here again if we were in Edinburgh.

Location was very convenient for visiting Edinburgh. we walked to all the places we wanted to visit. There was food stores close by for everyday items. Parking was very expensive but that's the way it is , We were there over a week end and it was free for 48 hours and then we took the car to a longer term parking. The apartment was on the ground floor so no stairs to carry luggage and there was a separate entrance hall so it cut street noise out if needed, the rooms were amazing , very large and well looked after with tasteful decoration. The bathroom was very small in comparison but all we needed was there. Thick nice towels were provided. The kitchen was very well equipped and we had everything we needed, even towels, salt and pepper, dish soap were provided. Bedding (sheets, pillows) was also of very nice quality. Weather was cool and the house was kept at a very comfortable temperature.

The main bedroom bed! two major issues: the double bed in the main bedroom was too small for us (we are 1,80m and 1,72m tall and of normal body weight). I think it was a UK king size bed (150cm x 200cm), did not bring a tape measure so cannot confirm) with old fashion iron frame. Looked pretty but was useless. The mattress felt like an old spring mattress and every time one of us moved the other one felt it. The other unpleasant issue was that the quilt provided, whilst a likely feather/down quilt, was far too heavy a tog for a warm house this time of year. I did not look at the quilt label but this was very heavy and very warm and also made the nights uncomfortable. An investment in a new good quality larger bed and a mid season/ lighter Tog rating quilt would be appropriate and appreciated. A larger bed would also look better in this large bedroom.
