Our experience with this holiday home unfortunately deteriorated over time and revealed several serious issues. Halfway through our stay, we were left without running water—no water from the taps or shower, and no possibility to flush the toilet. This forced us to buy large containers of water just to manage basic hygiene needs. This situation was especially difficult as we were traveling with a 4-year-old child. Considering that we paid for this accommodation, it is only reasonable to expect the basic right to shower and wash. The host was very responsive with automated messages, but when it came to addressing a real and urgent problem, her response was limited to a single emoji and a brief “I’ll check,” after which she disappeared completely. I reached out again to inform her we were leaving the house (hoping she might come to fix the issue), but there was no follow-up. Later, I updated her that the situation remained unchanged and that we had to purchase water ourselves—again, no reply at all. This is not how hospitality should be handled. In addition, the property itself has several shortcomings. The tap is extremely small and impractical even when water is available. Being a ground-floor apartment, the house is very damp and has a strong smell of mold. At one point, a cockroach appeared in the bedroom; when we moved the wardrobe to remove it, we discovered the wall behind it was covered in green mold. Not a pleasant or healthy environment to sleep in. The double bed is small, hard, and awkwardly placed in a narrow recess in the wall. The house in general seems affected by humidity, as there are small insects throughout. Some even got into our luggage, and we noticed them on our clothes and walking around the house. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.
