"More of a Vrbo than an inn, but private comfortable and good value."

8.0

Private and comfortable. Keurig coffee maker. Liked the “old timey “ look and feel.

A little road noise from nearby highway. Towels were a little old and worn.

"Great home base for exploring Julien."

10.0

This was a great little hideaway. The back porch was very cozy and comfortable, and a lovely addition to the room. The little kitchenette was also very convenient. The grounds were lovely, and the honor bar was also a lovely addition as well.

The mattress was spring and not comfortable to sleep on. My back would hurt each morning. They did not allow for taking a bath in the bathroom. No way to plug the tub and the tub was also very small. Parking is nearly impossible during the day.

"Charming and comfortable accommodation in a picturesque setting."

8.0

Cosy room in an attractively quaint building.

Access to the building from street level is via concrete steps which need clearing of encroaching plants, and could be difficult to negotiate or a trip hazard for the infirm.

"Not worth the money"

2.0

The back porch

My husband & I are over 80. There are concrete steps that were very difficult. No one told us the they would be difficult to navigate. Code to get in was sent close to 3pm. We could get in early because the code to get in was withheld till 3 pm. Very inconvenient The pool —— nasty smell because of the dog shit in area above the pool. Dog was on a higher level but barked the entire time we were there. Price was way too high for the facility. The bed was uncomfortable. Room ‘s worth should have been $100. We will never stay there again. We would certainly appreciate a generous refund. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Deena Avery deenaa66@ Gmail.com

"Very nice two-night stay in Julian within easy walking distance of the downtown area."

9.0

The room was a nice size and included a mini frig, Keurig style coffee maker, good WiFi. Also had a patio door connecting to a walkway to pool and private tavern that was part of the property. Very nice host who met me upon arrival to provide access code to my room and were responsive to a text requesting additional coffee.

Stairs from the road up to the room. They aren’t very long, but for people that are mobility compromised, it could be a problem

"Mostly very pleasant. A lovely property."

7.0

The location was fine, on a crescent off the main road into Julian. Beautiful big trees and natural surroundings. Room #1 had a nice terrace, which would be nice for a stay of at least two nights because having lunch or dinner there would be lovely. The bed was ultrasoft with lots of pillows to prop oneself up for reading. The bottled water was nice; the air in Julian can be dry as it was the days we were there. Access by code was easy and realistic.

The shower: the soap was watery and runny. It ran down my arms instead of staying in the cup of my hand. The shower curtain was not water repellent, so water dripped onto the bathmat, and it was wet when anyone got out of the shower, even though the inner curtain had been put inside the tub. There was no sign saying not to enter the proprietor's front yard, even though there was a sign saying to the pool and tavern before a Y in the path; and since we were unfamiliar with the property, we didn't know which path went where.. The proprietor let us know in no uncertain terms that we were off limits when we went up the stairs to explore the property -- not fair! (Otherwise, she was pleasant and helpful.) There are steep stairs going up to the front door, so anyone with mobility issues might have a hard time getting up to the landing with their luggage. (But this also means nice views.)
