Borah’s Nest

I had a very disappointing experience with Borah’s Nest Homestay. When we arrived, the caretaker was still cleaning the property and we had to wait outside for quite some time, which was inconvenient after a long journey. After entering, we checked the amenities and found several major issues. The gas stove was not working, the bathroom did not have a proper lock and the AC was very old, giving a poor impression—and it was not functioning properly either. Due to these problems, we decided not to stay and informed the owner. However, despite booking just about an hour earlier, the owner insisted on a ₹500 cancellation charge. We explained that this was unfair as there was no significant loss, but we still had to pay the amount and leave, after which we booked another place. Overall, it was a frustrating experience. I would strongly advise future guests to carefully check the condition of amenities before confirming their stay.

Their kindness, attentiveness, and genuine care for guests went above and beyond expectations.
