Dolty Kato Nubian House is vibrant, colorful, and genuinely beautiful and the décor and ambience are a big part of what attracted us, and it fully lived up to expectations. We stayed as a family (me, my wife, and our 6-year-old) and the staff were consistently helpful and courteous. A special mention to Ms. Somaya for how she handled our arrival day. Our flight from Cairo was delayed by around 2.5 hours, which clashed with a planned guided tour. We arrived tired and with a hungry child, and I was struggling to coordinate with the tour operator and decide what to order. Somaya quickly contacted the operator, explained our situation in Arabic, and helped us order the right dishes and managed the whole situation calmly and efficiently, and it genuinely saved our day (A big shout out!!) The room was very clean and comfortable, service was spot on, and the restaurant views are excellent. Dinner was a highlight—eating on the banks of the Nile with truly delicious food and unique flavors was memorable (milder on spice compared to an Indian palate, but still fantastic). The hotel also offers tours and activities that looked well-priced, though we had already pre-booked ours.

Getting to Nubian Village involves a narrow, bumpy, untarred stretch (typically by boat or open tuk-tuk). We enjoyed the semi off-road experience and our son loved it, but it may be uncomfortable for older guests or anyone with mobility concerns. Also, the souvenir/spice shops outside can start with very inflated prices—bargaining is essential.

The view of the Nile

Our stay started off on the wrong foot and only got worse. The reservation manager was shockingly unprofessional—he failed to communicate our booking to the actual manager, leaving us stranded until 5:30 PM before we could check in, even after we offered to pay extra just to speed things up. We had booked a deluxe double Nile view room, but what we got was far from deluxe. Instead, we were handed a dirty room with a Nile view that barely made up for the filth and disappointment. It felt like a bait-and-switch, and the staff didn’t seem to care. Would not recommend. There are plenty of places along the Nile that actually respect their guests and honor their bookings.

Плохой wifi. И надо учитывать, что отель находится не в Асуане, на такси ехать достаточно долго, лучший вид транспорта- лодки, причал прямо рядом с отелем.

I really loved this beautiful stay. The Nile view from my balcony is incredible. And the room itself is clean, cozy and designed in Nubian style. The staff were amazing and a special mention to Somaya whose warmth and good energy made me feel at home very quickly. And of course the manager Samir who was supportive in organising tours and making suggestions to improve my stay. The house dining was so tasty! The restaurant food was delicious, I was there for a few nights and ate in every night. Aswan was one of the biggest highlights of my trip to Egypt. And it was made all the better because of the team at Dolty Kato.

This property is really special. It is located in the heart of a bustling Nubian village! The rooms are lovely with balconies over the Nile. The restaurant is relaxing with good food. The staff is helpful and very friendly.

The location can be challenging to get to. Contact the property in advance to arrange transportation. The shower in the bathroom is small and needs a curtain.
