The Rose and Crown

Lovely little establishment in the middle of nowhere. The room we stayed in was exceptional. The owner was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We very much enjoyed our spontaneous getaway and we'll definitely be going back.

Country village pub with good local trade. The newly renovated room was very stylish and a lovely bathroom, very comfortable and peaceful at night. James was a perfect host and very helpful.

Helpful and attentive staff. A good sized room, comfortable bed, large recently refurbished bathroom (with hooks on the door and somewhere to hang the towels - doesn’t often happen). Good powerful walk-in shower and a separate jacuzzi bath. A fan was offered to help with the overnight heat in the room. Breakfast was cooked to order. Interesting old building. Plenty of parking.

The pub is on a main road and the traffic noise was intrusive overnight. Overall everything was good. Just a couple of things that would have boosted the score. Bigger bath towels would be good. No wardrobe so more/better hanging space. The washbasin tap was plumbed the wrong way round, which was confusing.

Lovely old inn with well maintained rooms. Great food and good value for money.

Lovely and comfortable accommodation, helpful host and great breakfast

Myself and a friend stayed for two nights to attend a nearby metal detecting rally, we had a twin room which with two comfortable single beds, a very well presented bathroom with a nice shower with modern fittings, the staff and management were extremely friendly and accommodating, the restaurant/pub served a good selection of evening meals with locally brewed beer on pump. A lovely full English breakfast is available in the morning. Would definitely stay here again.

Charming building, room was adequate size but very hot. No fan and the window is quite small. Room facing a busy road which has heavy traffic. On arrival which was a Monday, the pub was closed and had to call the owner to let us in. They informed us that they do not open on a Monday, they should have emailed us and told us this as we became worried. Past guests dirty sock behind bedside cabinet. Breakfast not great, we didn’t have a cooked breakfast which was an additional cost. Cornflakes were a cheap brand that were stale, warm yoghurt and a cheap orange juice which wasn’t fresh orange and it tasted watered down. Wi-Fi useless, couldn’t watch the tv as it was constantly losing reception. Overall not value for money, would not stay again and would not recommend.

Loved the French style loft room with the free standing bath Very comfortable stay The hosts were lovely , very friendly and accommodating of all our needs. Plenty of parking and nice spaces to eat outdoors as well as in the bar or restaurant. Would recommend to others and stay there again.

Bar not open every night. Would have liked a fan in the room as it was extremely hot when we stayed there.
