"Family retreat"

8.0

Central to everything. Had a couple of issues and it was sorted straight away.

The floor wasn't as clean as I would have expected, couldn't use washing machine as full of towels, one of the beds didn't have a mattress protector. Stains on sofa.

"Comfortable, modern and great location - however property came with a few issues as I have listed"

9.0

Overall, the property was clean, modern, and comfortable. It was in a great location as it was a short walk to the beach.

There were a few issues worth mentioning: Before our arrival, I messaged through Booking.com to ask if parking was available. I was initially told there wasn’t any, despite the listing title mentioning a parking space. After I pointed this out, I was told that parking was indeed available. This inconsistency was a bit confusing and could be clearer from the outset. The kitchen tap was also constantly leaking, the dripping noise was quite loud and we had to shut the kitchen door every night otherwise it would’ve kept us up. Another point is the communal entrance door — it remained open at all times during our stay. We were given a code 24 hours before arrival, which led us to believe the door would be locked, but it never actually shut properly. This may raise some security concerns. Lastly, hot water for the shower is only available during set times: 6–7am, 2–3pm, and 7–8pm. Outside of those windows, you’ll need to press a boost button, which takes around two hours to heat up. This isn’t clearly mentioned in the listing and could be inconvenient if you’re not aware in advance.

"Constructive feedback"

5.0

Was clean and comfortable

The stairs up to the property ,not great for my ageing parents ,the parking was terrible ,very tight space to get into ,also the bins were extremely smelly having to walk past them to enter the property ,no wardrobes or any form of seating in the bedrooms which were more than adequate space wise to accommodate the forementioned plus only 3 coat hangers to hang clothing ,the property was great location wise ,but not so great being very close to a butcher who is at work from 5 am chopping meat ,can't be helped ,but of course no mention in the advert ,if the above could be somehow addressed then the week would have been perfect

"Decent space"

7.0

It was a very convenient location, and the bedrooms were spacious. It was modern, and likely recently refurbished. The living space was nice enough, a good space for a takeaway dinner. Plenty of towels were provided for use, as well as a good selection of crockery to use.

The parking space for this specific flat was realistically too small for a family sized car, especially if there's another car parked in the space next to it. Not all furnishings and towels were completely spotless. The curfew feels unfair/unreasonable when the pub outside is blasting Sandstorm (Darude) at 11pm, and is still going for it until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays but arguably, if you can't beat the party, join it?

"Great place to stay but unsuitable for young children"

5.0

Great location, clean and tidy appartment

Unsuitable for people travelling with young children Gas and electrical utility access is in a floor level easily accessed cupboard which is dangerous when you have a toddler about. This needs a small lock or at least a catch putting on the door to make it safe with children. The parking space is extremely small. We have a T-Roc which is a small crossover and I as the driver had to climb over to the passenger side and squeeze out of a narrow gap to leave the car. The stairs and access to the property are extremely steep so you cannot take a pram up and need to be careful carrying babies or toddlers. The door to the apartment is a thumb lock with no chain on the inside, meaning it is not child proof. There is a pub across the road that has heavy bass music blasting out until 11pm. Annoying at bed time. Hot water is done via a tank and by tea time is cold so unless you realise this and boost the hot water manually you cannot have a shower in the evening.
