PunNa Homestay @ Bangsai

Beautiful rice field in front of accommodation

I went there because of the rating 8.9 "fabulous" ... How disappointing. I stayed in many other hotels in Thailand (most of them cheaper than PunNa Homestay), this one was one of the worst. The Deluxe room was announced 30m², it was actually 16m² room indoor (I guess they include the terrace in stating 30m² room). Carpet was dirty (stains and hairs), dust bunnies on the walls, shower cabin glass was dirty and full of limestone, kitchenware were dirty, fridge had traces of mold, there was no coffee in the room (unlike promised on reservation), room decoration made of odds and ends, etc... pictures looked beautiful when making our booking, but when arriving there was litters and debris of abandoned construction materials left and right. In the end, we felt so uncomfortable that we did not use our massage nor our breakfast that were included in the price. To be fair, all reviews were emphasizing great hosts with a family feeling, but I have to admit we didn't see the family (only the male owner who kindly welcomed us to open the room). My point here is not to be hard on this small family business resort -happy for them if it runs well. But I find it so unfair that all the other great little hotels where I stayed across Thailand for cheaper price (usually less than 1000THB/night) are having lower rating than PunNa Homestay. I don't understand how PunNa Homestay can be 8.9? To me, it's maximum a 7.0 rating (I spend half of my nights in hotels / Genius3 on booking). Definitely not good value for money, and to be avoided if you like clean rooms.

Der Ort ist sehr liebevoll ausgestattet. Sirichai und seine Frau Pim sind sehr gastfreundliche, interessante Menschen. Wir haben mehrere Ausflüge gemeinsam gemacht, wo ich beide etwas kennen lernen konnte und ich habe sogar einen kleinen Thai-Kurs bekommen. Die Plattformen über den Reisfeldern sind traumhaft schön und die Sonnenuntergänge atemberaubend. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, es wurde problemlos auf meine vegetarische Diät Rücksicht genommen. Das Zimmer war geräumig und das Bett sehr bequem. Ich kann es sehr empfehlen!

Die Lage ist etwas abseits, aber da ich Ruhe gesucht habe, war dies genau richtig.

Sirichai est un hôte très sympathique qui aime les rencontres et vous soignera comme un membre de sa famille.

Ongelooflijk gastvrij koppel. De locatie van de homestay en de homestay zelf is magnifiek. Rustig gelegen met leuke terrassen om van de zonsopkomst/zonsondergang te genieten. De man weet veel over Thailand en heeft me zelfs een privetour over de tempels gegeven. Aanrader!
