DuPont Mansion Bed & Breakfast

Highly decorated large period home in Old Louisville with modern comforts. Must be able to walk up stairs for most rooms. Community area for coffee and full refrigerator. Large bath with soaking tub and separate shower. Easy on street parking. Walkable neighborhood but rare restaurant, coffee shop, or store around. Breakfast featured southern cooking with a flair and very informative hostess. Glad we stayed here on our trip through Louisville. Be sure to read the clever instructions manual.

Need to consider age and mobility when staying here

Historical and staff was great with communication.

The breakfasts were good but not quite what we had expected. Perhaps a bit more thought to the quantity and recipes.

I could hear all the noise in the hallway and also the outside, street noise. The bed had a canopy and above it there was a fan that turned on when the light was on. Because of the bed canopy, I could not reach the fan’s pull cord to shut it off. It was cold in the room and the fan made it worse. There was no way to turn the heat on but there was a space heater in the room. Unfortunately, the heater did not work. There is no reception and it is confusing on how to get in. I spent at least 30 min to locate someone and to get in. Apparently, someone should have called me to give me directions prior to my arrival but nobody did. Breakfast starts too late, 8:00 - 9:00 am and I was told that it will be great. For business trip guests this timing is late. I stayed until 8:40 am and explained at the beginning that I need to leave earlier to my appointment. What I was served (coffee, juice, small cold soup and a little omelet) cannot be considered great cooked breakfast. As there is no receptionist, I did not get my invoice when I left (needed for business trips expense reports). I had to call for two weeks, almost every day to finally get the invoice emailed to me. The stay for one night (including taxes) was $196. I feel the price was too high for what it offered.

Fabulous location! Great breakfast, and hosts were amazingly thoughtful and gracious.
