De Parel van Pekel

The B&B is located in a 19th century house that has been completely run down over the last 30 years. The current owners are now renovating it in style, one room at a time, with a lot of dedication, with a lot of heart and soul. Each bedroom has its own living room, where the fantastic breakfast is served (quality and presentation). The rooms are decorated with a lot of detail, you almost feel like you are in a museum. We wish Tienke and Bart, who gave us a guided tour of the house, much perseverance and energy for the renovation of the rest of the old building. Parking behind the house, and a nice sitting area by the water, which we didn't use.

The owners Bart and Tieneke are amazingly friendly and warm people. Very nice and calm place to stay. During your stay if you don't want to feel like a client but feel like an old friend, then this is your place.

Superb breakfast, loved the personal touch. Tineke and Bart were very friendly and when our local friends from Oude Pekela came to meet us there, we were all shown around the large old house which they are progressively doing up to provide morfe B&B rooms.

Difficult to find from the main road although we'd passed it several times before spotting the sign hanging from the building on the side where the access drive goes in.

Awesome breakfast, good bed, very friendly hosts. Easy to park.
