Handagedara Resort & Spa

Dit is een zeer mooi resort dat ook Spa activiteiten aanbiedt. Er is een dubbel zwembad omgeven door een mooie tuin met bar en ligbedden. Het personeel is vriendelijk. Het hotel is smaakvol ingericht met diverse tuintjes en waterpartijen. Het ontbijt is uitgebreid en wordt in buffetvorm aangeboden. Indien je een walvissensafari overweegt, weet dat je mogelijk enkel de rug van één walvis ziet. Dit heeft mij wat ontgoocheld. Er zijn 2 stranden op wandelafstand.

Mirissa is bijzonder toeristisch en is vooral bedoeld om van het strand te genieten. We hadden het gevoel dat je niet noodzakelijk in Mirissa moet zijn voor de mooiste strand ervaring. Om te surfen zijn we met Tuktuk naar een ander strand gereden buiten het centrum.

So much mosque, no ac lobby and reception

The location of the hotel is quite good. It is about a 5-minute walk to the whale-watching harbor and around a 20-minute walk to Secret Beach, which makes it convenient for nearby activities. The hotel has a swimming pool, but the water looked a bit dirty during our stay, and we did not see anyone using it. We booked a double room but were given a family room instead. The room was very spacious, and the Wi-Fi signal inside the room was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast were of good quality, and we enjoyed the meals very much.

Some of the power outlets were quite loose, and they were installed rather high on the wall, which made charging devices a bit inconvenient. The surface of the bathtub showed clear signs of wear. In addition, the duvet on the bed was not very comfortable.

Amazing staff! Special thanks to Priyanga who was always there and helped to organize day trips and everything else. We appreciated it a lot. Hotel pool is very nice. There is a nice nearby (5 min walk), also, some very nice and cosy restaurants from a walking distance.
