Annie The Ambulance (Drive away campervan)

We didn't actually stay in Annie, but we're upgraded to mollie the medic. I can honestly say it was probably one of the best random getaways we have done. We have stayed in log cabins and shepherds huts, but we wanted something a bit different. When I saw we could hire an old ambulance that had been converted, i knew it was something we would enjoy. From the moment we booked to the moment we returned mollie, the communication from the owner was fantastic. Mollie had everything we needed and more for our couple of nights away. From water, a cooker, an electric hook up, and bedding. I can't wait to book again to go on another little adventure.

I booked Annie the ambulance for 3 nights for 3 people- unfortunately it was getting a new engine so had an email offering an “upgrade” mollie the medic, after travelling for 5 hours, to our disappointment Mollie was certainly not an upgrade to what is listed- it was very basic! Looked like an ambulance- not a camper like Annie! There was no portaloo, charging ports didn’t work nor did the fridge, it was freezing cold and did not accommodate for the 3 people I had booked for. I posted the keys back after what was the worst night of our life, sent the host a polite text and booked a Travelodge for the remainder of our trip. I then received a 3 minute abusive phone call from the host because I had contacted booking.com to express our disappointment. Due to this it caused me to suffer a panic attack to which then made us cut or trip short, loose out on both the money for the camper and the hotel, pull my son from his boxing competition (that is what we travelled for) and go home.

Couldn’t get the cabin air heaters, fridge or the 12v points to work…. But minor quibbles.

Annie has lots of character. The bed was super comfy and the chairs were really comfortable too. We found ourselves referring to the van as ‘she’, she was a home from home, cosy and dependable. The owners were also super helpful and accommodating.

The freedom of being able to travel anywhere 🥰

Annie is an absolute trooper, so spacious and affordable. Roger is a great host, communication was on point.
