Front door key was broken so we had to use the back door which wasn’t too much of an inconvenience.

Clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet, well equipped. A refurbished traditional farm workers cottage with a bit of character.

Location. Access was down a long, potholed farm track which was straight off the main road and quite a dangerous junction particularly at night. We were provided with one bath towel each, but no face towels. From booking in August until yesterday, we received 21 emails / Whatsapps from Short Stay St Andrews or Booking.com , most duplicating previous messages, which was OTT & became very irritating. For example, on Tues 7th I received 2 emails plus a Whatsapp all with the same message - the threat of a financial penalty if we checked out later than 10.am. Then, yesterday, a Whatsapp advising us that if we sent a 5 star review, we would be entered into a draw for a Fortnum & Mason Hamper! This was astonishing. If reviews are not honest and realistic, then customers will be making booking decisions based on meaningless and false information which is unethical or worse , arguably bordering on fraudulent.

Nice location handy for town and good for our dog.

As available for dogs could have benefited from a small gate near to back door for security purposes to prevent dog going around the front.

The cottage was perfect in every way! Very clean. Lovely decor, super kitchen and very comfy beds. We loved the enclosed garden for the dog to explore too. About a 40 minute walk into the centre of St Andrews along a cycle path, adjacent to the main road. Flat and easy!! Otherwise a 10 minute drive or regular buses are available . The cottage was pretty big so perfect for our family of 2 with two teenage kids.

Lovely quiet location close to the town.
