The Pacific Room, Tapeka Point

Very comfortable and quiet. Close to the beach and a quick drive to town for some excellent restaurants.

There is a lovely short hike to the end of the point just around the block, and there is also a beach with a swimming area down the road.

The room was in a good location for the local beach and the kiwi viewing trail. Location was a few minutes drive from town, which was ok. Quiet part of the island, away from the crowds in town, which was also a nice break. We loved being able to go looking for Kiwi's in the bush walk at night.

That it was a bit too far for us to walk to town. Not knowing the geography of the island, we didnt realise there was a large hill to navigate, therefore we had to drive in and out each time, and it would have been too dark to walk at night.

Everything. Bridget is a delightful owner. Lovely home. Supremely comfortable.

Nothing not to like but I would put a standing lamp behind the chairs as it is quite dark for evening reading. A bathroom shelf to place toiletries on is also needed.

Very friendly and accommodating host; well-presented two bedroom unit located under the host's two-storey house and deck, which provided cool shade in the summer heat; easy access from the road; car parking is on the grass verge at the side of the road; quiet beach-side neighbourhood with friendly neighbours; good location for spotting wild kiwis in the bush with an easy track (about 100-200 metres from the property) -- red light torches were provided for kiwi-spotting and we spotted three kiwis on our second night there; good easy access to lovely beaches. (Note: the photos of the property were taken just before our departure.)

Bridget was so friendly, welcoming and able to advise on walks and things to do. Also allowed us to use her washing machine which was very kind.
