St Ives Upper Loft

Location was fabulous and the apartment was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped.

Bedroom was cold as there was no direct heating source in the room (although the weather was particularly cold). The mattress was very uncomfortable.

Perfect location in the perfect seaside town. Previous reviews gave an unfair depiction which had me concerned. You do walk 10 yards down an alley with commercial recycling bins to enter the rear. There are seagulls, but a cleaner power washed the patio daily, although not required so often. The flat was clean, there was no smell as suggested in other reviews. The furniture was all good. We got a lovely welcome pack including win, scones, cream and jam, biscuits, crisps, olives, juice and more, nice touch. Do take a screen shot of the welcome email as there is no phone connection. When using the tv you’ll need the WiFi code and set the time in full to access iPlayer, Netflix and YouTube. All good, and St Ives is just great, try a pint of Slipway

Lage war gut mitten in St.Ives mit Einkaufsmöglichkeiten vor dem Haus. Die wichtigsten Dinge in der Loft waren vorhanden. Nahe zum ÖV.

Der Zugang zur Wohnung führt durch eine verschmutzte schmale Gasse mit Abfallcontainern. Dann folgt eine Treppe zu einem grossen Balkon. Sowohl die Treppe wie der Balkon und die Balkonmöbel waren total verschmutzt mit Möwen- und Rattenkot. Ebenfalls die Eingangstür und die Fassade sowie die Fenster im Schlafraum. Der Balkon wurde am andern Morgen auf unsere Intervention einigermassen gereinigt. Hier müsste regelmässig mit einem Hochdruckreiniger gesäubert werden. Es gab keine Infos in der Wohnung über die Benutzung der Dusche, des Kochherds etc. Die Bettwäsche musste am Schluss abgezogen werden. Kissen und Decke waren verschmutzt mit Blut-und anderen Flecken. Das hinterlässt einen schalen Nachgeschmack bezüglich Hygiene. Wir wurden angehalten die Möwen nicht zu füttern. Aus der Küche eines gegenüberliegenden Restaurants fütterte ein Mitarbeiter die Möwen……

Location was good, well equipped, nice and brightly decorated on the inside.

Walking passed large bins and many rat traps to get to the gate. Very dirty ‘roof terrace’ covered in seagull poo and rat droppings. Whole apartment smelled ‘foisty’ as if it had been cold and damp over winter. Bed very uncomfortable, pillows were completely useless, bedding felt dirty. TV difficult to use and no instructions or welcome pack anywhere for any information about the apartment. Saw a rat on the roof terrace before we left. No tea towel to dry pots so left them. No name on any bin that we could see so couldn’t empty the bin. No handrail on the staircase which made it difficult, and had to leave a lamp on all night to go to the bathroom. We decided not to do any cooking there as the smell put me off. Shower head didn’t sit in the holder properly and the water went off a couple of times and was scalding hot when it came back on. Shame, because with a decent bed and new soft furnishings and sofa, and thorough cleaning and beautifying of the roof terrace before guests arrive, this has the potential to be a gem of an apartment. You can’t stop the seagulls and the entrance near the bins obviously can’t be changed, but a lot could be done to improve the place.

Fabulous location, clean, well equipped. Would definitely return.

Few issues with TV due to connection problem, not his fault but the owner went out of his way to put things right. He went above and beyond to sort things for us.
