Directly at the beach :)

The location is fantastic, right on the beachfront of the beautiful Gili Gede, so you get the sea and sunrise right in front of you. It was overall very clean.

We looked forward to this stay but we unfortunately had a few issues that made us check out after the first night. The door doesn’t seal fully, leaving a gap of a few cm all around it - meaning it’s very hard to keep mosquitoes out, so even with a mosquito repellent we had quite a lot of them through the night. We had a repeated incident with quite large cockroaches in the bathroom, probably coming from the shower drain. And finally, there is a glitch with the electricity, which made the light by the bed go on if you plugged in anything in the socket by the bed. So, we could not charge our phones unless we slept with the light on. We also realized the hostel has changed names and Booking profiles, as it is actually called the Mentari Guest House and the previous Booking score was lower. Had we known that, we would have probably not booked it. We had to check out the next morning and book a different accommodation on the island for the same day, which was a significant unplanned cost. We were not offered any kind of refund for the unused nights.
