The care we had and the attention to detail in how this house is finished is exceptional. Perfect location for exploring Nara, we also loved the easy connection by train to Kyoto and Osaka. Many booking venues say they are exclusive, but this one truly was. Worth the money we paid…

The house is Japanese style, so long and narrow, not everyone will appreciate that. Was not a problem for us.

We had such an amazing time at Machiya no Yado Gu! The house gave us the feeling of traditional Japan, while being kitted out with all the modern amenities we could have wished for. Spacious, quiet, tastefully designed - and an unbeatable location a stone’s throw away from Nara park. Best of all, we had one of the most incredible hosts we’ve ever encountered. He went out of his way to generously help us every step of the way. Even drove us to the train station on his actual birthday! Can’t wait to be back!

Everything! The location was amazing! The gentleman who helped us was so kind and helpful and accommodating!! The space was huge!!!! Traditional elements everywhere in the home, skinny stairs though! We've been in many hotels and houses in Japan these past two weeks and this was by far the best one! Highly highly highly recommend!

A typical Japanese house inside a maze of streets filled with shops, bars and restaurants. All the important sights of Nara can be comfortably reached on foot. The house was spacious and had everything you might need for a memorable stay including efficient AC units during the hot summer. Although there were only two of us the house will comfortably sleep up to six people. Two showers and toilets.
