We were not allowed to access the apartments. We have spent a couple of hours on heat +33 to find another apartments

We were rejected to check-in when we almost have come to the property at 15:30. No check-in instructions was provided, I kindly asked the host to provide us check-in details in a chat. But instead of details, they asked us to cancel the booking at the last moment. But there is a cancellation fee which cost the full price of apartments. There was +33 outside and I was a in panic, what we have to do the next with this situation, and which options do we have to spend a night in Budapest (under the bridge?). We spent many time and finally have found another apartments. The rest of evening I spent with costumer service support on Booking.com regarding returning of my cancellation fee, because I should somehow prove that the problem was not on my side, and not my personal wish to cancel this booking. I could spend this time on walking through Budapest. I would say, that this is a scam and recommend @Booking.com team to remove this apartments from listing to save the time and nerve of other tourists, as well as your efforts on solving client support issues. Also you can read similar reviews regarding incorrect information in description, I was also completely sure that I book the whole private apartments without other people inside.

Staff or the owners who live there very pleasant and helpful lovely people helped with luggage as there's no lifts up the stairs. They were available to communicate whenever I needed.

Didn't realise it was a shared property and the only thing private was a bedroom. The AC/fan was blowing hot air and I suffer with allergies so did not suit me well after my flight I felt very humid and hot and really wanted to just shower. There were birds as pets which were cute in the shared living room but they triggered my allergies too. The shower was small and I'm quite a shy person and it was right opposite the main door with a glass door. It's probably more suitable for a cheap stay for a back packer. Or someone who wants to socialise with the owners. Unfortunately my partner had to book me a place somewhere else with bigger space and more private.
