I didn't end up staying here, as the neighbouring apartment was under construction and we had some difficulties with dust (and I have Asthma) . The hostess was AMAZING. I cannot stress how helpful and kind she was. This situation wasn't quite in her control, but she did her best to help us find another alternative accomodation and was very helpful and kind. She also refunded us our money via booking.com and it was a very easy process.

The neighbouring apartment being under construction is not something the host could control. The only thing I would say wasn't the best, was the entrance to the apartment is right on the street and there is no pavement. I would imagine if I had kids I wouldn't feel so safe. There is also a staircase to the apartment, so that you need to keep in mind with luggages. The staircase was also a little 'old' and it doens't' do justice to the renovated apartment.

The location is amazing. There are several parking spots close to the property, both free and paid. Place is newly renovated, has everything you need, beautiful and spotless. Comfortable bed, everything new in the kitchen and bathroom. Good wifi. Host was super responsive, we were unfortunately more needy than usual, and she answered our every call and message. Also, don’t be silly like us and turn on the oven and the induction at the same time.

We were unlucky with the weather. Beginning of October, and we had a rainy day and colder temperatures. The heating is shared and was not yet turned on, so it was a bit cold, and quite damp. Keep in mind that Volterra is a historic city, all the buildings are old, so the walls are cold and thick. Ideal for hot summer days, but not so great if it’s cold or rainy. However, we asked the host if she could bring the electric heater, and she did, and she saved us!
