Oak Cottage - Perfect for Golfing, Walking & Relaxing

The cottage was lovely, with a fully equipped kitchen, a big double bedroom with a very comfy bed, and with an amazing outdoor space as well. We were there with our newborn, and Megan went above and beyond to provide us a cot mattress, and she was also very welcoming. I would 100% recommend staying at Oak cottage!

The location was perfect and the outdoor space was excellent for our dog. Skirrid is also just down the road, so a lovely walk to enjoy.

The cottage was very clean, comfortable, and well equipped and only 1.5 miles from town, which was an easy walk. Megan was very helpful and provided bedding for the sofabed as we were 2 friends staying, not a couple.

A very comfortable and welcome haven after a long day of walking. Lovely!

Oak Cottage was clean & comfortable. We had a relaxing few days. Owners were great.

The walk into Abergavenny was along a very busy road with narrow pathways. Would not recommend walking in the dark. There are plentiful takeaway options if you don’t want to cook

I really liked Oak Cottage as a base for a running weekend. The hosts were very quick to answer questions prior to arrival (this is important for me as I often travel solo) and I thought the cottage itself was lovely. Well laid out with coffee/tea/towels etc provided and spotlessly clean. The bed was really comfortable and I spent a lovely final evening sitting on the little terrace at the back with a view of one of the mountains I had run up! There really wasn't anything I didn't like about the place itself so I want to make it clear that my comments below are not connected to either the property or the hosts. I just thought it was something people might like to be aware of re:travel.

It was not easy to book taxis in the area so I ended up doing quite a lot of walking back and forth to the property. This really would only apply to people arriving by public transport so wouldn't be an issue for many.

Great place to explore the area. I even got to play nine holes early in the morning before my wife got out of bed only took me an hour. The folks at the golf course were great. They got me a bag of clubs and a pull behind trolley only cost me 20 pounds. we had some trouble with the heating, but that was because of the confusion about which switches to turn on. The host lives next-door and was great to take care of anything that you might need . I highly recommend this place to stay.
