Entire two bedroom modern house near beach - Durham City

Really interesting host - good communication style. Excellent location for local walks. Good, well equipped kitchen. Spacious house with comfy beds.

Dirty property, cobweb and spiders having a feast, cutlery dirty with grease, pans in a poorly kept state, left over snack in the kitchen cupboard, kitchen had half the inventory to cook or make basic noodles. Wardrobe had the owners old shirts lying about. No towels, was not my immediate concern but would have be nice to state it from the beginning. The owner does not respond to messages on time I moved out less than 20 mins of getting in, my son wept out of disappointment and frustration. Nice enticing photos on site but a house on haunted hills in the inside :(

On first arrival, the kitchen looked nice and quite new. It is near to a costal walk

It was so dirty, we didn’t even stay for the second night. There was litter everywhere, mouldy food in the cupboards, the bathroom had a dead fly on the sink. The toilet hadn’t been cleaned. The beds were so uncomfortable! A really loud creaky door. There were no basic amenities either, not even a full roll of toilet roll, no hand wash or washing up liquid.

The kitchen and bathroom were really lovely. The beds were comfortable. Lovely big wardrobes. Nice views from both bedrooms. In a great location for touring the area. Good WiFi connection and streaming services available on smart tv if you have an account with Netflix or prime. Good central heating.

There were only 3 knives and forks and 2 teaspoons. Definitely needs a new cutlery set and a knife to chop with and chopping board. There was only one glass to drink out of and no toaster or sieve/colander. It would be good to provide these for your guests. The microwave was really dirty on arrival. It’s a really nice place and with a few extra things as mentioned, would be excellent. And be careful when using the shower because the large shower head sprays the ceiling and wets the floor. But if you use the smaller shower head, it’s fine. NB take your own towels.

We did not stay at this property. It was scruffy, dirty, and not at all a place we would choose to stay. We would not in any way recommend this property .

The property was in a very poor location. We felt shocked that this property was for rent. The area was very, very intimidating, and I could not imagine staying here at all. The landlord reimbursed our payment after sending him some photos of the interior of the property. Under NO surcomstances, would we ever stay here, even for free.

no towels! don’t mind but there was no mention of this at booking. we travelled 3 hours from Scotland and could get a shower.
