Apartment Yoko - Griante

It was well-equipped, and we had everything we needed in the kitchen to prepare dinner and other meals. The view was definitely the highlight, with stunning sights of Lake Como and the mountains from the balcony. The garden was super cute and perfect for an evening walk. Additionally, the check-in process was smooth

Even though the apartment was mostly clean, there was a lot of dust under the windows, likely because they had been recently replaced. The location is close to Menaggio, but walking there involves a 15-minute walk along a busy road with cars passing closely, which can be tiring, especially when walking uphill on the way back. Driving to the apartment is also tricky due to the narrow roads. If you have a large car, it's better to park it elsewhere. We managed to park next to the villa, but it was quite challenging, so we avoided using the car for short trips. The apartment was chilly during our spring stay, and although the owner mentioned that heating systems can't be used after a certain date in Italy, an additional heater would have been helpful. The walls are thin, and the bedroom near the toilet allowed us to hear everything happening in the bathroom. Overall, the price felt slightly high for the experience.

Getting to the actual apartment was very challenging especially with a larger car. And on a personal preference - would prefer a shower over a bath.

We loved the view from the balcony and how quiet it was at night.

The driveway up to the property was treacherous.

The view from the balcony is amazing, the location was convenient as it is a short drive from Menaggio and the ferry.

Per the price we paid, the apartment was a disappointment. The dishes left in the cabinets were dirty; The bedroom had a window that couldn't be covered and the room was full of light during the morning; The bed wasn't comfortable; The bedroom had no main light and the outlets for electric powers for the night lamps were the ones we need to charge our phone and operate the fan (as there's no AC); The electricity fell each time we tried to use both the stove and the oven (and nothing besides that); The shower is not suitable for people above 1.80m; The driveway to the apartment is a nightmare to drive through and probably impossible for cars larger than an SUV.

It was a large accommodation at a great location. Nearly all of the facilities we have at home were available here as well which made us feel home right away. It’s stunning views on the lake makes waking up here a pleasant experience. The distance to Menaggio make it possible to walk there and have lunch or dinner.

- The shower was a bit clumsy to operate for a 1,88m male as the hose was not very long. Also the lever to switch between faucet and shower head could not be fully set to the shower head alone. - As far as we know there was no airco available. There were however, two ventilators which helped a bit. But on 30+ degrees Celsius days it could be a challenge to cool down. - The great location also came with a small drawback. To reach the accommodation we needed to cross 3 narrow hairpin turns. With a small car this should not be a problem, but with a large station wagon of nearly 5 meters long this was quite challenging to manoeuvre up and down the driveway.
