They would not allow me to check in, on booking it clearly states to pay at the property. They guy speaks very fluent England English but would answer the phone and just sit there on the phone listening but would not speak. I was standing outside in the rain for 20+ minutes to where neighbors came out Betty concerned. One neighbor of this property offered to help me and also called this guy, he spoke to him but kept saying I needed to pay him so I said ok no problem, how should I pay you and he just say there on the phone. He eventually said he would send me Link but wouldn’t tell me how he planned to send the link WhatsApp, email, phone… to pay him it was pouring down rain, myself and all of my luggage was completely soaked through. He just kept hanging up the phone on me. The neighbor told me that this place is bad and it’s not really a good idea to stay there as a solo traveler anyway and that he would be concerned for me to stay there alone. The neighbor then walked me and my luggage to a hotel he knew of in the pouring rain and talked to the hotel about what happened and they have me a decent rate of 60€ for the night but not booking.com is trying to charge me for this stay even though I never stepped foot inside this apartment because the guy was being extremely shady and wouldn’t even let me pay him cash or card for the room.

Really uncomfortable stairs and the place was not clean

The position of the apartment (old part of Sanremo, typical building, very original). The host recommended very good restorant (CAMELOT) 100 meters from the house.

The space is comfortable and the location ia good.

The host gave me a wrong password for check in the message and didn't care to inform me for the change. The stairs to get to the place are very challenging.
