Brand New House with Large Porch in Lake Katrine

Liked the location near the river and convenient to central Kingston (10 min by car), loved the view of the river out back, which you could see from several rooms, and the high ceilings in living area. The newly remodeled spaces looked nice, and it was a good size for the 3 of us. Also appreciated the washer/dryer and that they did provide laundry soap.

Didn’t appreciate arriving at night to a pitch black porch, the motion light didn’t turn on (they knew we were arriving late). No soap in the showers, when I mentioned to the host, they asked if I could pick some up and they’d pay us back, but they never paid us back. I had to scrub most of the pots I used before using them (not sure, do cleaners normally check these things in air bnbs?), somewhat short of cooking supplies for thanksgiving dinner but we managed. The tub shower liner definitely needs to be replaced. The host wasn’t very communicative, never replied to my last message. I think with a few more amenities /kitchen supplies, and more responsive host, I would consider this nice enough, reasonably priced place to stay.

The house is impeccable. The view is amazing. Everything was thought through. We had a lovely stay! The host is very responsive.

The area is not really for walking around but it’s not far from Woodstock and other upstate towns : Rheinbeck, Hudson etc.

Great location to fish the Hudson for stripers. Nice deck with gas grill. Very clean
