GBNot so much like as problem-free – friendly person was there, handed over the keys and explained everything.
It was explained that it was important, understandably, for security that both doors (to access the building) were ensured to be closed. That was straightforward with the second door but the first (external) door needs fixing. We tried various gentle/forceful methods to get that door to click closed but it appears to be broken.
GBLovely clean , property. Very well equipped , good shower! Lovely service , and a great cafe downstairs for breakfast. Location is central for the pubs /restaurants and a short walk to the train station .

Expensive parking , very narrow country roads, food places close early at the weekend with not many options if you want to say local
GBGBLovely view and setting, near the river. Close to local shops and places to eat. Surprisingly spacious rooms and simply but nicely decorated. Beds were comfy, slept well in both rooms. Nice to have a toilet and bathroom separate. Shower hot and powerful, lovely. Appreciated help with luggage to top floor apartment Haldon. Staff friendly and helpful.
Although warned about steepness of stairs, they were so steep and very difficult to climb up and with luggage too, we struggled. 61yr old and 30 Yr old. (But as already said, the shop girls were kind enough to help.) We couldve benefitted from a mirror in the double bedroom as the small table face mirror wasnt big enough for me to dry and style my hair. A small bin in the bedrooms would've been nice. The microwave definitely needs replacing as it not only sounded on its last legs, it was completely rusty inside and looked awful! Also, finally the sky window in the lounge wouldnt shut and the sash window in the twin room, was impossible to shut. Fortunately weather was warm and mostly dry and didn't affect the stay at all.
GBOverall the apartment was clean.
The soft furnishings in the bedroom needed laundering. For example the cushion cover and throws needed a freshen up. As the apartment we stayed in was directly over the kitchen- there were some cooking odours that could be smelt in the apartment. The carpets had staining to them. The bedding was clean though.

Staircase very narrow and twisty some paint coming off walls very meagre amount of toilet roll and 1 dw tablet for 2 day stay! No views… bedroom window backed onto bike repair area and brick wall at front
GBGBFantastic location and great use of space in such an old historic building. Love the recent refurbishment too! It's great to have the cafe downstairs and both indoor and outdoor areas are lovely. We have already booked another stay at Route 2 later in the year.
The weather was very hot but that's not Route 2's fault! Thankfully there was a fan for us to use. The stairs might be a challenge for the less mobile.
