Too many rules and hassles The apartment was very clean and neat, but it only had the bare minimum — literally 4 plates, 4 glasses, 4 knives and forks etc. The list of rules made the stay feel restrictive, like you could easily be penalised for the smallest thing. One major issue was the breakage deposit. The online booking clearly stated a R750 refundable deposit within 10 working days, but after booking and paying with a 100% cancellation fee I was told it had changed to R1500 (even after I showed proof of what was on the site when I booked). Although I left the apartment clean with no issues, they still insisted on waiting the full 10 working days for the refund, saying they needed to check the bedding after it came back from the laundry — which didn’t make sense to me. After explaining that I had unexpected medical expenses the day after I got home to see if they could refund me sooner, I eventually received my refund after 6 working days, but it was a stressful process that shouldn’t have been necessary. The couch was uncomfortable, the patio furniture needs an upgrade, and the security gate and door lock both need servicing and was given a towel with a not so small hole in it. Overall, it felt hard to relax with all the rules and deposit conditions hanging over us. I’ve stayed in Langebaan many times before and have never had to deal with such strict deposit policies. If you book through Langebaan Holiday Homes, just be aware of the high breakage deposit. Personally, I’d rather stay in another Nivica apartment next time to avoid the hassle.

Our visit to Langebaan was fantastic, and we would definitely recommend it as a destination! Review of Nivica 57 (7 Nights) Pros: - Conveniently located near a shopping center, making it easy to access amenities. - The view from the apartment was great.

Review of Nivica 57 (7 Nights) Cons: - The noise levels were very disruptive. We had to sleep with the windows closed and use earplugs each night to cope with the loud, repetitive banging sounds from neighboring units' patio braai doors swinging in the wind. We also found Unit 57's patio braai door banging in the wind when we first arrived at the unit. This seems to be a common issue in the building, likely due to a low-quality latching mechanism. - The noise from children playing at the swimming pool directly below the apartment was also very loud and annoying. While this may not be an issue if you're out during the day, it can be bothersome if you’re trying to relax at home. - Upon arrival, we found that all the glasses and mugs were dirty and sticky, requiring us to rewash them before use. - I also recommend not using the provided towels. - The unit was significantly overpriced for the experience we had, and we are unlikely to use this accommodation again. - I recommend that the unit install sheer curtains in the lounge for privacy, as the public corridor looks directly into the apartment.

The establishment is extremely commercialized - impersonal. I did a late check not out my own fault, I was charged R500 for late check in - which I felt it was exorbitant.
