Mountain Yurt, Stunning Views, Near Wanaka

This is a beautiful place. Well equiped and cosy! The breakfast is AMAZING. Fresh bread and eggs from the chickens in the garden. Lovely hosts and perfect for stargazing. It was a wonderfull break in a very busy schedule!

Staying here, you’re immersed in nature surrounded by stunning views, you’re off grid (with electricity and running water) but it’s exactly what is listed by the hosts. This family loves having guests and go above and beyond to make sure your stay is all that it can be, such kind and caring people! The yurt was huge, super comfortable, and had what we needed, the hosts going so far as to put a chilly bin in there for our cold goods (we are very grateful). The breakfast was superb, homemade fresh baked bread, homegrown eggs, homemade jam from their apricot trees, wow, yum, need I say more?!?

There was some difficulty reaching the yurt with our suitcases (the host was very gracious in helping carry them), and also getting to the bathroom in the night time (it’s disconnected to the yurt), as there are uneven steps to traverse so if you have any mobility concerns, this is not the place for you. The whole appeal was the yurt stay so we knew it would be somewhat rugged, we were totally impressed with how well everything was set up, & the level of comfort too!

this was a very cool stay. the yurt was well-furnished -- comfortable bed and sheets, warm at night, some kitchen equipment for heating up coffee and food. recommend getting to the yurt a little earlier in the evening if possible - we arrived after 9. the views from the property are stellar - we did a bit of evening stargazing when it got dark enough. there's a short walk to get from the parking location to the yurt, and yurt to bathroom/showers. just an fyi. we didnt have the breakfast but the hosts recommended a lovely spot nearby.

it was super windy that night and the window coverings on the yurt made a lot of noise when hit by wind so we unfortunately did not sleep super well. the hosts were apologetic about the situation

Absolutely wonderful! We are so glad to have stumbled upon this. There was plenty of space inside the yurt and the hosts were nothing but welcoming. We really felt at home. We could have spent our entire day at the property exploring all that it had to offer, or simply enjoying nature.
