"An absolute recommendation"

10.0

The house was very comfortable and well stocked - especially the kitchen.

If I had to choose something there is the tiny detail that it was quite cold when we arrived.

This cabin was amazing. The owner of the cabin was as amazing as the cabin. Everything you can think of in a cabin was there. Strongly recommend this to visitors for summer and winter.

Absolutely nothing!

"Perfect location for a cabin trip with an extended group of friends!"

9.0

Large cabin able to host a group of 10-ish people with no problem. 2 bathrooms make everybody's comfort much easier. The private sauna was really amazing and it didn't take too long for it to heat up. The cabin includes all possible kitchen appliances, blankets/duvets, board games etc... everything needed for a great stay!

It took some hours for the hot water tank to heat up, making it not really possible to shower on the first night if arriving in the evening. The jacuzzi water took forever to drain (stuck pipes?), which prevented to fill it and empty it as much as desired. But minor issues! :)

"Very nice place in the Norefjell mountains"

9.0

We stayed here already in 2023 (and will surely come back). It is a very nice place in the mountains and nature, as quiet as it could be. Especially in the evenings, when the hikers and cyclers have gone home, it is very quiet and you can make a nice fire outside enjoying the silence, stars and/or a barbeque. The weather was fantastic during our stay, but keep in mind it is high mountain weather and can change at the blink of an eye. When we arrived it was pouring for 5 mins at an intensity I have seldom seen, only to clear up to blue sky. As they say in Norway, no bad weather just bad clothing. The cabin is very nice, with ample room and bedrooms and is very cozy, especially with the big fireplace in the living room. Make sure to read the (detailed) instructions provided, we missed the "Switch on the hot water" one and had to take a cold shower one morning. Whenever we had questions we contacted Mikkel (the owner) via the booking, com messenger and he always responded very promptly and detailed which is very much appreciated. The kitchen is really nice and fully equipped with a large cooking/preparing area and a large sitting/dining area. The beds are comfortable and one room has a double bed below and a bunk on top which will be fun for kids. One highlight is surely the jacuzzi bathtub which is great fun as well as the Sauna, especially if it is rainy or cold outside. There is a washing/storage room with a freezer and washing machine, clothesline and a "dryer wardrobe" for ski boots. Outside is a nice fireplace/grill, and there is a separate Weber-grill in one of the sheds. The other shed is the firewood storage and the wood can be used. If you want to go fishing in the lake behind the house (Gamlesetervatnet), few other lakes and small rivers you can buy the fishing license either in the tourist information in Eggedal or via the Perfish app.

All good, the house is really great. What is a little annoying (and has nothing to do with the accommodation) is the toll road leading from Eggedal to the cabin and Tempelseter and here mainly its operator (Youpark). Paying the toll is absolutely fine, they really use it to maintain the toll roads including the lose gravel roads very well. However, Youpark is not clear on how they bill, meaning, at what intervals, if there is like a 24h/48h validity of the toll, etc. The Youpark homepage is not really helpful either and neither are the info boards at the beginning of the toll road. On the Youpark homepage you can only find information on cost (single, multiple or annual trip/pass). There we saw that the toll is NOK 60 "per tour", but based on the billing (sometimes had to pay for two-way toll, sometimes only for one way, and sometimes not at all) it is not clear to me if the NOK 60 is per 1 trip, per return trip or per certain number of hours. If you are staying longer a subscription/multi-pass might probably be worth considering. You can find the cost on Youpark.no.

"Absolutely stunning location, quiet surroundinggs, fully equipped, with many possible walking alternatives and absolutel"

10.0

Perfect location, excellent equipment, very cozy and absolutely comfortable to stay. Absolutely worth the money spent!

Nothing to complain or not to like as it was the best cabin I have stayed in with my family here in Norway. It was the most comfortable cabin with fully equipped kitchen, 2 separate living rooms, 2-baths, sauna, jacuzzi.

"Very nice and fully equipped house in the mountains"

9.0

Very nice and fully equipped house on a mountain plateau, with lots of space, a very nice kitchen, a sauna and a jacuzzi bathtub in a really great location with lots of privacy and great views. There are some other houses in the area but the layout of these houses is very clever so that there is enough distance between them. There is a detailed "house manual" in English and Norwegian showing what to do when you leave and arrive. We only had contact with the host via chat but he always responded very quickly to any questions. Be aware, towels and bed linen are not provided and this is also mentioned in the property description on booking.com. There are altogether 4 bedrooms, and the bedroom on the ground floor next to the living room is very nice with comfortable beds. The kitchen/dining area is great, with a really beautiful and large kitchen, with 2 sinks, a gas stove and a small induction stove, lots of kitchen equipment, a Nespresso machine and ample cutlery, plates and bowls. There are 2 fire places, one in the kitchen and one in the living room, however, they are more "ornamental" and provide a nice atmosphere, but don't really heat the place. There are heaters and in bathrooms and laundry rooms floor heaters to make the house cozy. Outside there are 2 sheds, and one of them is full of fire wood which can be used and is included in the cost. The other shed contains tools, charcoal for the barbeque as well as a chimney charcoal starter. The house has a small outside area with a nice barbeque facility and wooden benches. Close by is a lake which can be reached through a small trail starting a few meters away from the house. The trail is "wild" and leads through partially very swampy terrain, so high and waterproof hiking boots or quick-drying barefoot shoes are recommended.

Nothing to complain about, just a few things to keep in mind The floor heater takes some time to heat up the tiled floors in the bathrooms and entrance area. The fridge is bit unusual, at least for us, as the coldest section is in the lower area rather than on top. Like many roads leading up mountains and/or sights in the area, the road leading up to the house becomes a toll road after covering about more than half the distance. There is no boom (at least not when we were there) and the license plate is scanned by a camera. You can then pay the toll amount via YouPark.com. This is indicated at the start of the road but we were not aware of it at the time of booing. The host mentioned he will include this info under 'property information'.
