"Couldn't even stay here"

We reserved this appartment for our first 5 days in India and were relieved to have found something nice for a couple of days and not worry about where to sleep for a while. One day before arrival we asked about the exact address and he simply told us the appartment was not available due to restoration works because of a pipe break! The pipe break didn't happen on that day but already the day before, but he didn't immediately contact us about it or cancelled the booking, we only found out because we reached out to him and asked, so the communication from him was not transparent at all and very lacking. So on our way to the airport we were left with no accomodation for the next 5 days and struggled to find something else. He offered us another appartment in a whole different neighbourhood and asked for an instant 50% pre paidment, all outside of the Booking.com procedure. We declined because we didn't trust him as he behaved so unprofessionally.
