Stay Portland - 1BR Historic Soul District Remodel

The location was great and the public transportation is right on the corner .

I didn’t like Being a basement unit (that wasn’t clear at the listing description) otherwise, I wouldn’t rented . There is NO insulation between the top floor and this unit . You can hear a pin dropping on the floor, the dog nails on the floor and the people who were there , were very unconsidered, keeping loud conversation until three am and someone was also smoking pot . Also, the sewage smell is Extremely strong . The shower wall tiles needs a good scrub, the kitchen floor was sticky to my shoes . The dryers needs repair , (the cylinder is very shaking and bumpy.) sheets were stained . Coffee table is ready to collapse at any minute .

Communication with the hosts was VERY good and easy to communicate with. Parking was simple and plenty of options Wifi was strong and had ability to work easily from the apartment Large bathroom, comfortable bed, large space Location was very walkable and close to restaurants very central

Transparently, and as requested by the hosts, I did send these privately first. I received no response back, so the post-visit messages are probably just being automated. Thus, I am sharing transparently by feedback 1) Noise Level - While we didn't hear any noise outside, the upstairs tenants were very audible and woke us up starting at 6:30/7 am. The insulation between upstairs/basement is very poor 2) Sewer Smell - To be respectful of the hosts, we would turn off the AC when leaving the apt. When we returned there was a standing sewage smell that was masked when we would turn on the AC again 3) Floors were dusty and didn't seem like they've been swept, vacuumed, or mopped in a while There were a few other challenges we ran into during the stay that I won't share as the host did respond to those but no response to the above after sharing feedback transparently privately first

Right size for one, easy TV use, kitchen and laundry on site, comfortable temp and each room had climate control units

Initial directions and outside lighting took me to the front of the property, further guidance led me to the basement unit around the side

The place was very clean and conveniently located. The host is very quick to respond with any questions. All the amenities you can expect from an apartment (dishwasher, fridge/freezer, bonus beverage fridge, washer/dryer, etc). Good price for the area.

It is a basement unit so the ceiling height is a little short. Not for tall people. I’m about 6ft and just barely cleared some areas.

Everything! place was awesome, will definitely try to stay again!
