From the moment we stepped onto the property, we were met with warm hospitality and an atmosphere of peace and charm. Nestled in the heart of Parys, Meguni is a perfect blend of comfort, elegance, and local flair. The rooms are beautifully appointed with thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home – crisp linens, cozy furnishings, and little details that reflect true care. Every corner of the property is immaculately maintained and radiates tranquility. Whether you're exploring the art galleries and cafés of Parys or just looking to relax in a serene setting, Meguni offers a five-star experience in an intimate and authentic way. Friendly host and warm welcome. Beautiful spacious house on the river bank .

The house is in a beautiful area, in the canopy of the surrounding trees and overlooking the river. Everything was beautifully appointed and felt extremely luxurious. There is more than enough space for 10 people.

We had an amazing stay at Megumi! This is a beautiful, very well appointed, luxury house! Absolutely everything we wanted or needed was here and more. There is plenty of inside and outside space, with ample parking, comfortable seating. The views from the stoep to the river is amazing with ample birdlife to admire. It’s a gentle stroll down to the river, and there is a private banking for fishing and to enjoy the view. The pool is small but perfectly sized. Bedrooms and bathrooms are comfortable and well appointed. Bedding, towels and everything supplied is good quality, clean and beautiful. There are plenty of appliances including mosquito machines in all the bedrooms, aircons, coffee machines, dishwasher and more. The kitchen is very well appointed with every utensil you may need, ample cookware, crockery and loads of cups, mugs and glasses. The manager was in contact before and during the stay and patiently answered all my questions. She was welcoming, professional and very helpful throughout. Thank you! The place is easy to find, close enough to town but also nice and quiet. We felt safe and secure. The road in is paved so no dirt road to navigate. We would absolutely stay here again and I have already recommended to friends. Fantastic through and through! The only thing to note is that the refundable damages deposit needs to be paid and will be refunded through electronic bank transfer only, into a South African bank account. Cash and credit card cannot be used for this. This is probably not an issue for South African residents but international travellers will need to be prepared for international transfers including knowledge of their IBAN and similar information on their accounts to make this work.

Beautiful location and beautifully decorated house with all the amenities needed.

There are hidden terms and conditions when booking the property. You have to pay a R1000 refundable deposit and fill in a guest reservation form with all your details (including ID number). This information is not on the booking.com site and you’re only informed of this after you’ve booked the accommodation. The agent will send you a private message/email to request the above and you will NOT be allowed access to the property without the above. I find it rather inconvenient for a place to request more money after I’ve booked the accommodation already and can’t actually cancel because I would lose my booking fee. There’s no consideration for whether people will be able to pay this money or not. We were also told that other guests would be coming in on our check out day thus we had to check out an hour earlier. They offered us an earlier check in but we could not make it as we were working that day. The checkout times should clearly be changed then because it can’t be expected that everytime new guests arrive then the previous ones need to constantly check out early. I was not impressed by this at all as when we were planning our trip , we specifically planned around the check out time only to be told that we have to check out early. We ended up changing our plans for the day. The plumbing is also a problem - the main bedroom toilet and the upstairs sink have poor drainage and the water collects after flushing and after use of the sink. There is also an awful drain smell after you flush some of the toilets and after using the main bedroom shower. We were informed that the house uses a septic tank but we’ve been to other properties with septic tanks and have not encountered this before. The beds are very hard and uncomfortable to sleep in.
