Casas da Vargem shared swimming pool by An Island Apart

Ubytování působí na první pohled hezky, má krásný bazén a o okolí je dobře postaráno. Ubytování má dobré umístění. Celou dovolenou nám dělaly velkou společnost kočky, což bylo taky milé. Při příjezdu nás potěšila mísa s ovocem. Musím také pochválit vybavenost kuchyně.

Bohužel je tam hodně vlhko, polštáře na gauči často až vlhké, hodně hmyzu a mravenců. Některé části ubytování mají známky opotřebování.

Beautifull house and pool, shower and bedroom have lush green view on patio. Swimming pool (shared with only 1 other house) is gorgious. Having breakfast overlooking the ocean though the big window.

De locatie is prachtig en goed gelegen vlakbij Ponta do Sol. Het huis is goed onderhouden en de keuken is goed uitgerust. De fruitmand als welkomsgeschenk is een heel erg fijne bonus.

Veel buurtkatten (die lief zijn) maar je wel in 't oog moet houden, anders zitten ze binnen. Het huis heeft wel wat last van vochtigheid (maar wel ontvochtiger aanwezig) en insecten.

I'm writing this review to save everyone some time and money. Bottom line: The property might look great in photos, but the reality of it is that the place is infested with bugs, and showing its age with wear and tear. This is NOT a luxury property. Now, my husband and I are avid travelers, and go on many trips to nature based locales. We are not afraid of a couple of bugs coming in through the window or door, we totally understand that comes with the territory of staying on an island. This an INFESTATION, y'all. We had noticed that the bedroom was infested with ants, not just one or two, but a swarm. Unfortunately, we didn't notice until the last day, and when I brought this to our host's attention, he brushed me off and said "it can really happen" but it is "out of our control". Not the response I would expect from someone looking to take care of their property and guests. The ants even followed us to our next hotel on our trip, they must have been in our clothes and bags. Another issue is sleep quality- the refrigerator is quite noisy/old and makes loud banging noises all night. So if you're looking to get any sleep, forget that idea. Lastly, just general cleanliness notes- cups in kitchen were dirty so I decided to run them through the dishwasher to clean again. Fruit on the kitchen counter was moldy. And there was no garbage pail in the kitchen for some reason. I've only written two negative travel reviews in my life, and this is one of them. I would love the host to sleep here for a night, and then let me know if he thinks all of this is acceptable.
