Ghyll Head Hive Pod Village

Site was immaculate, great facilities. Booked early September and had a nice quiet break. There are usually school children staying at the activity centre during the rest of the year but the week we chose was very peaceful. Staff were very helpful. Beautiful place surrounded by trees with a babbling steam. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating area too!

Could do with sanitary bins in toilets for females. Other than that the site was faultless.

Only 8 pods, great amenity block. Fantastic setting and close by to shops and activities at Windermere. Fantastic place to introduce kids to camping but with the ease of not having to pitch a tent.

Very Peaceful location. Great alternative to ‘camping’.

The roller blind at the door of our pod was missing.

It was our first time away without staying in a conventional hotel but it will not be our last! Everything is so easily accessible and on the evenings it’s lit up just enough to be able to see but can still appreciate the evening dark skies. Location is amazing just a short drive to the local villages.

A table or shelf in the rooms would be a great addition as I was concerned the kids or dog would knock over drinks that we had to put on the floor however maybe more experienced campers would bring there own. Next time we will.

Bad location If you want to waste half of your day stuck in traffic that's perfect location.

I don't usually write reviews but this place is immaculate, beautiful surroundings, real thought has gone into the facilities and Alan the manager Is a real credit to the site.

Great location. Very quiet.

Could have had a notice board in kitchen with general up to date information. eg. Local walks, local shop A cupboard for each pod would be nice in the kitchen too.

Very nice cozy pods next to a little stream. The bonfire area was also really nice

There was two rooms with toilets/showers but most of the time one of the two was locked which occasionally caused a lot of congestion. The staff refused to unlock the other set of toilets/showers when asked. The advert said "a stones-throw away from the lake" which was misleading. Even though it was indeed very close to the lake, there was no way to access the lake from there on foot as there is private properties all along the waterfront, between the road and the lake, with no public access. If you do not have a car, it is very difficult to get anywhere and the one bus that goes past is only every hour or so, and even then is not on time.
