Argyl - Abbey Gate Studios near Holyrood

I was messaged by the host before our trip with the access codes.

There is a washer slash dryer in the unit which would have been great to use. They had two complimentary soaps for the dish washer but none for the clothes and I couldn’t find single use soaps at the store.

The design of the apartment was beautiful. It was very clean and comfortable

It was only a 7 minute drive to Grassmarket which was okay but personally I would have preferred to stay in the centre of all attractions

Elhelyezkedés, felszereltség, tisztaság.

Kis méretű ágy (140 cm), ami nem elég két embernek, valamint a matrac is elhasznált kényelmetlen. Ár-érték arányban nem találtam megfelelőnek az ágyat.

Location was good; pretty close to get to Holyrood Palace on foot and the start of the Royal Mile; we were also able to connect to downtown through Regent / Princes street - with a fairly good walk - need to bring good walking shoes. Shower was good; amenities in the kitchen were good and the security - lots of locked doors that need a code to get in - was great for us.

We stayed for 10 days - apparently called "long term" by the management; most of the comments are from people staying "short term" and having said that, we would have loved having this information prior to arrival: we were told that the Abbey Mount provided coffee ("Yes we provide coffee") for their coffee machine (it's a French Press); when we told them there was no coffee, they answered "I do apologise, there should be coffee, with everything else, if its not there I can ask the cleaners to drop some tomorrow they may have run out." and then we were told "We also do not provide coffee itself, as guests’ preferences can vary quite a lot" (Bring your own coffee!) Also, they answered "As this is a self-service apartment, we don’t provide additional supplies such as extra bin bags or toilet paper during the stay" So again, if you are staying more than 5 days, you will have to get these articles yourself, including laundry detergent (there is a washing machine). In addition, there was no sink plug to do dishes (running water) and we did not get any cleaning done during the 10 days - we would have had to pay extra - there was no broom, no dust pan and no sweeper in the apartment, even though they wrote "we do provide a small dustpan and broom, please kindly check the kitchen cupboards. If you wouldn't find it there - it might be under the sink or in the washing machine cupboard as guests are moving those things around sometimes / If not, there should also be a hoover. Which I hope would suffice in the event of not having a dustpan and brush" but when we told them there was none to be found, nothing else was done (no delivery of cleaning supplies - we were basically ghosted until the end of our stay). On the last day, we did not get any message as to what to do before leaving... So communication with staff was a little difficult...
