Stunning 3 bedroom House with amazing Castle view

Great location. Property was clean and comfortable. Castle view a lovely bonus. Parking nearby was straightforward - thanks to useful information from hosts.

The location was hellish. Down a long, dark passageway, with no working exterior light to the property, it felt very unsafe at night for 2 females. Dire lighting throughout, no practical mirrors in the bedrooms ( upstairs bedrooms none at all), host brought one down for my daughter but not myself. I advised to get ready in the tiny en-suite on the first floor, hardly practical for a female who uses a hairdryer/straighteners also. NOISY: Be warned, this is the main road to the castle, traffic started building up every day from 6.30am making it impossible to sleep in the first floor bedroom properly. Added to this you have the delivery noises from the pub directly beneath, kegs being moved, shouting, etc. Landlord strictly adhered to music off at 10.30pm but patrons still in up to midnight at the weekends. We stayed from Saturday 9th May - 19th May & alas I was the one who slept in that bedroom. Revellers attending other public houses a few door down were loud, raucous, screamingly drunk, laying in the road, etc, until early hours both weekends. The whole stay was exhausting tbh, definitely would not recommend staying in that road (Narrowgate) & did tell Host that to her face on day of departure. Host: double-booked us so asked would we travel up on the Saturday, not the booked Friday & she would give us an extra 2 days. We happily agreed, she then took back the second day without explaining why & told us we had to be out by 10am on the Monday we left. She did kindly allow me an extra hour as am disabled - she was aware of that fact. PARKING: Unless you have a blue badge you are scuppered. It's all double yellows, we managed to locate 24 hour parking with my badge on Pottergate. Host gave us completely the wrong info re where to park so we had to ask locally. COMMS: Poor. Host don't reply to my questions via here at all, ended up managing to communicate via phone prior to the visit. PRIVACY: A nightmare!

Wonderful property in the centre of town. Very large living space and came with good facilities. View over Alnwick Castle added to the feel for the place. Beds were very comfortable.

Definitely plenty of noise from the pub downstairs until 10.30 so would need to be careful of who was sleeping in the bottom bedroom and definitely not young children or anyone who likes an early night.

Brilliant weekend at the accommodation- very well stocked kitchen, very clean and fab location. Great interaction with host.

Wonderful house that has been really beautifully restored to make the most of the lovely old features. Great living and dining area and comfortable bedrooms.

Good sized living space, Good sized bedrooms. Excellent kitchen area with good amount of equipment.

Upon arrival, the heating had been switched off. It took a good 12 hours to warm up the accommodation.

In the centre of Alnwick. Few minutes from the castle and gardens, right next to shops and pubs.

Lovely location. Very spacious. Everything you need is provided; clean, and organized. Close to loads of restaurants, grocery stores, shopping, etc. Castle view is a fun bonus.

The bar noise from below & noises from people outside are both definitely audible through the one bedroom, as the listing states. Our trip was end of November, and because the heat was off when we arrived it was quite cold and took a while to warm up. The schedule it's set to once turned on shuts off at night -- which made it very cold in the middle of the night. Doesn't take away from the value of this venue: just be aware of the heat settings!
