LOVELY 2 BEDROOMS APPARTEMENT, LAUNDRY/PARKING/TV

Price was right, location was easy to find. Parking was right by the entry door. Even though it is located right on Connecticut Avenue we didn't hear any street noise but did hear a child and footsteps upstairs occasionally. We weren't there much, came to town to spend Thanksgiving with our family living in Kensington. We picked it because it was a quick drive to their place, except during morning rush hour. Great coffee maker and microwave but toaster oven was like a toy, need a real toaster. We only ate light breakfast there and didn't try to cook a meal. There was a bar height table and chairs in kitchen area.

We didn't have any way to hang up our coats. I borrowed hangers from our family. When I mentioned the lack of hangers to the hostess, she offered some to us. She mentioned other guests had stolen them. They had an automatic room freshener that was dispersing 24/7. Not sure what smell they were trying to cover up, but the fresheners were overpowering. We were glad to have the king size bed, but the room is too small for it so one person had to climb in from the bottom of the bed. Some of the furniture was not in good shape. Sofa was worn but comfortable, drawers in King bed frame were not functional so we never unpacked our suitcases for our four days stay.

Location and convenience of having a home like setting instead of hotel room. Kitchen with table and chairs. Living room to relax and watch tv. Two separate bedrooms with very comfortable beds

Basement apartment and could hear footsteps from above at all times

The property was easy to find, wifi was strong, had a full size working fridge, coffee maker, windows were easy to open from the basement.

First I will add that I was under the impression of being alone the entire stay of our trip, this technically isn’t an apartment but a furnished basement. Upon reading other reviews the same complaints that others wrote were true for our stay. Such as noise, during our stay you would hear noise during the day and well into the night. I am aware she has a child and it’s impossible to ask the child to not make noise nor is it reasonable but if you are traveling a long distance and require some quiet, you will not get it. I have a baby and will not say that my baby didn’t make noise since some days he sleeps good and other nights not so much. So since I would hear the noise upstairs I’m pretty sure she heard my baby. Another review mentioned that they had to pay cash or Zelle which was also our case. I myself like using my credit card since I get points and also like to wait until I see the property in person to pay. Germaine did message early to let me know her form of payment I just didn’t see it in time and also added that her machine was broken which if another review is saying the same thing then there is no machine or she sees no need to fix it. Since this is a basement, you have no control of the temperature in the basement and therefore gets extremely cold. There were some thick blankets which did come in handy and we opened the windows to let some of the AC air out because even with all the vents closed it was freezing. Again I can’t ask the host to turn off the AC because upstairs where she lives it gets hot. As we were leaving another guest was literally on his way into the property which was strange for me because although we took the trash out we didn’t make the bed and put all the towels we used in the hamper so the next guest got a dirty place. The mattress also (king size bed) wasn’t the most comfortable but overall it wasn’t a bad stay. I think for more privacy I would choose a hotel but if I’m alone then I would stay here again.

Nothing it was a horrible place to stay it stunk, it was dirty there were bugs and mice and a fridge full of mold. My daughter got sick after 3 days we tried to give her a chance to clean it and treat it and she said blamed it on us said we brought the bugs and mice with us from Texas🤔.

I didn’t like anything about it period.
