"Power cut twice, bunk bed fell apart, unresponsive property owner. Trip Ruined!"

2.0

The furnishings were nice and it is quite a good proximity from the Peak District. There is also a big TV screen in the lodge.

The electricity was out for half the duration of our stay (4 days 3 nights). The property owner was really unresponsive - he was only reachable after 6 pm which was especially aggravating after the first power cut as we’d waited over an hour in the darkness and cold for him to return our calls, then over half an hour until he returned - no light, no heating and no hot water. He cited an emergency situation which we were sympathetic for initially, but he became wary when the power cut for the second time the following day and he was once again hard to reach. This time around, we had prepared a cottage pie in the fridge. While he picked up the phone after two or three attempts, not only did he refuse to restore the power as he was at work, he didn’t offer any true solutions, suggesting we took it away in one of the musty plastic food storage boxes he had in his storage room that anyone should be wary about storing food in. The ladder to the bunk bed also collapsed as my partner was getting off, resulting in him pulling shoulder muscle in an attempt to break the fall. Upon inspection, the screws keeping it in were much too short. Thankfully my partner wasn’t badly injured by it; I would be pretty worried about this happening to a child. I understand these may have been a one-time issue considering he received a lot of positive reviews in the past, but considering we were looking to unwind, this essentially ruined the trip.

"Perfect, comforting and great value for money"

10.0

It was perfect! My girlfriend and I went here to have a little break, we needed somewhere peaceful where we could relax and maybe go on walks. Justin was helpful from the very beginning, even though he wasn’t in when we arrived, he carefully explained how to get in and use everything. He sent walking trails for us to use and didn’t hesitate to introduce himself! We had such a good time, we were sad to leave! Will definitely be back. This was the most perfect little spot for a relaxing break as a couple and I recommend this to everyone. We’re greatful for the amazing communication and interest in meeting us! Overall this was definitely worth the money we paid, we had all the information we needed and were super comfortable and happy!

Absolutely nothing, it was perfect!

"Very pleasant and cosy for a garden lodge"

10.0

Beautifully setup, cosy and everything you would need for a nice stay away, friendly host , little extras made a huge difference for example teas coffee sugar spare toothbrushes and many other small things I’d normally forget to pack.

Was not as secluded as I had expected unfortunately and with teenage children who make noise this was an issue for me as had to keep quiet due to host and neighbours etc, this was however the only downfall

"Ticks all the boxes... And more"

10.0

A delightful oasis. So beautifully crafted! We had everything we could have needed, the location was so convenient for access to neighbouring town and the Peak District National Park. Being on the fringe of the residential area had the benefit of excellent bus links to major centers and local convenience stores.

Fully in keeping with the hiking lodge design and purpose of the accommodation, the beds were built-in and functional.

"Cosy, Well-Equipped Lodge with Great Host Communication—Perfect Peak District Getaway!"

10.0

We had a wonderful stay at Stone Moor Lodge! The communication with our host was impeccable from start to finish. The lodge itself is delightfully cosy, with a fully equipped kitchen stocked with essentials like rice, pasta, cooking oil, tea, coffee, and more. There were plenty of board games to enjoy, and the ambient lighting throughout added a warm, welcoming touch. Everything was spotlessly clean, and we loved the quirky décor details. Set in a safe, peaceful neighbourhood, it was a perfect retreat. The massive glass doors overlooking the garden made it an ideal spot to sit back and relax. We would definitely stay here again when visiting the Peak District—a lovely, cosy hideaway!

Warm and cosy style and the host is exceptional.

The hot water have to reboot by host if use up. It is not convenient.
