Surfmen's Cottage - Historic Coast Guard property

love the location, love the historic charm of the house and other buildings

the second floor gets really hot on sunny days. also, the downstairs bathroom windows are broken, leaving them partly cracked open

Love the location, view of the ocean, outdoor amenities and landscape, spacious cottage with historic touches, nice furniture and bedding. Fire places are a bonus! Restaurant at the pier (pizza place is a must) is 2 min walk.

It does get wet overnight with the fog, so couldn’t use outdoor spaces until late morning when it dried off. Small suggestion to the owner - the outdoor seating in the patio is very nice, but given the dew overnight, I would suggest to have covers that would have kept the cushions dry overnight, luckily there were Adirondack chairs that dried off easily (or could be wiped down).

I’ve always dreamed of being able to stay at this historic location as my husband and myself have been coming up to Point Arena for years to surf and visit with friends. We love the Cove and spend long hours there beach combing and enjoying the view. This little cottage was the perfect place for us with a short walk to the Cove at the end of the drive way and a bedroom view of the water. One day we’ll rent the larger house and stay longer than two nights. The kitchen was easy to use with everything we needed to make our meals at home. The hot water shower was so nice especially after a cold water plunge in the ocean. The bedroom has a cozy and historical feel with a beautiful pitched roof over the bed. We slept really well with the sound of the ocean coming in from the window. I love the antiques and historical remnants from the old Coast Guard. The deck also has a great view and made for the perfect place to have morning coffee and watch the waves roll in. I’ll definitely come back again!
