Roses Cottage cosy countryside home with open fire and mountain views near Scafell

The property was very clean and comfortable. Very unique and felt like a movie scene. Instructions were very clear and I can only thank Natasha for a fantastic weekend.

Felt really cosy and homely the bed was so comfortable we didn’t want to leave. The property was immaculate throughout It has everything you need even down to washer and dryer though we didn’t use them. Everything was easy to find and instructions on all that was needed. Fantastic host with clear instruction

The only one small thing we wasn’t keen on was access through the back door as there is no light round the back till you reach the door however there is a torch in the property on arrival

My friend and I wanted to do a winter hike on scafell pike but all the nearby hotels were charging a bit too much for 2 single rooms/ 1 twin room .. Roses Cottage was cheaper and a lot more comfy than any hotel. And also very quiet at night so sleep after a tiring hike was not a problem. I’m coming back with my family next time.

I liked it. Nothing not to like.

Just a 15 min drive to Wasdale Head - this was a great location for our weekend trip climbing Scafell Pike. The cottage is tastefully furnished and is cosy with plenty of cushions and throws. The kitchen was well equipped and easy to find what we needed to cook each night. The detached garden had stunning views of the fells.

For the four of us (all adults) the cottage felt on the small side since there is one bathroom and the twin bedroom has limited standing space due to the sloped ceiling. Generally, there were few sockets in the bedrooms so charging phones, using hairdryers etc was a struggle for the four of us! Some extension plugs would have helped this.
