Ocean View Room Jay Henry's Transient House

Location, we got a seaside view. owner is accomodating. Good and clean room. Toilet and bath is clean and working which is very important to us. Water pressure is no problem even at 3rd floor. There is a common kitchen you can use to cook and dine.

No cabinets in our room to put our things but still can use the chairs. Size of room is small for 4 person. This might become issue for others that are clausthropobic. Phone signal is bad in the whole area (no cell site tower) so if you need data, you need to pay for piso wifi to use internet. If you plan to cook for your meals, buy ingredients in advance. Although there are stores and restaurants in the area, not all are available, especially if you're looking for seafood.

Rooms were very clean. Everything worked. Room was family sized so very spacious. A large desk, chair and a multi bin shelf for storage in the room. Outdoor seating with a couple of chairs and a small table. Beds were nice and comfy. Best sleep I've had in the country so far.... the area is quiet and you can hear the waves lapping on the shore from the rooms. Combined with the comfy beds and you've got a great night's sleep. Jay Henry and his wife were very helpful and accommodating. The location is right by the water, but the sandy beach is about a five minute walk down the road. I checked out a few of the other options in blue lagoon and Jay Henry's had the best rooms (cleanliness, size, furnishings, etc).

No wifi, but this is due to the typhoon.... the entire blue lagoon area is without wifi as of Dec 1, 2024 except one business that has starlink. Cell reception in the entire area is mostly non existent, but there are pockets here and there where you can get a (slow) signal. Not sure how long it'll be before the areas connection is restored. This isn't really a negative about this hotel, but a heads up for others.. if you can't handle being out of connectivity, check with the hotel before you book to see if the areas internet connectivity has been restored.

The location was a bit far from the main road, and we couldn't enjoy the beach during our visit because of a typhoon. I chose this place because I thought it was directly in front of the beach.

There is no backup generator, and we were informed that there would be a brownout due to the typhoon. Our room is located on level 3, where we are alone. There is an empty area nearby that appears unfinished and is being used as a laundry and drying area for sheets. The place is very dark at night, which feels quite unsettling. No toiletries and bath towels.

It has balcony. Near the beach.

My kids got so many bites from bedbugs. Please clean ur mattreses.

Fast service We arrived earlier than the check-in time. The owner just asked about the booking details and gave us a room. Cleanliness Upon entering the room, you can smell that the room has been sanitized properly. WIFI The wifi signal is strong! Each floor has a designated wifi
